Port forwarding is a method that allows you to run a server behind the router. Port Forwarding opens a specific port to a computer behind the router, allowing all Incoming Traffic on that port to be sent directly to that server. It should be used to setup servers behind the router, typically Port Triggering (Answer ID 344) is a better choice for non server applications (Such as instant messengers and game servers). Below is an example of how to setup Port Forwarding. For our example we will be setting an FTP Server and a Mail Server that uses SMTP and POP3. FTP uses ports: 20 and 21 SMTP uses port: 25 POP3 uses port: 110 Getting Started 1. You must set a static IP address on the server. If you're unsure of how to do this please go to Answer ID 534 for information on setting a static IP address in Windows. 2. Once the static IP address has been assigned please go to your desktop and double click on Internet Explorer (Located on the Start Menu in Windows XP) 3. Once "Internet Explorer" opens, please type http://192.168.1.1into the "Address Bar" and click GO 4. The "Enter Network Password" window will appear. Skip user name and type admin (admin is the default password) as the password, and click OK 5. This will bring up the routers "Setup" section. Look under "Domain Name" and check what version of the firmware you're using. 6. You will need to click on the Advanced tab to the very right. Once the "Advanced" tab comes up please go to the Forwarding tab. Firmware prior to 1.32 This will not work with firmware prior to 1.32 Firmware between 1.32 and 1.36 Service Port Range 20 ~ 21 25 ~ 25 110 ~ 110 IP Address 192.168.1.3 192.168.1.3 192.168.1.3 Firmware after 1.36 up to 1.40m Service Port Range 20 ~ 21 25 ~ 25 110 ~ 110 Protocol Both Both Both IP Address 192.168.1.3 192.168.1.3 192.168.1.3 Firmware after 1.40m Customized Application FTP SMTP POP3 Service Port Range 20 ~ 21 25 ~ 25 110 ~ 110 Protocol Both Both TCP IP Address 192.168.1.3 192.168.1.3 192.168.1.3 Finishing up Click Apply, then Continue Restart your computer

Port forwarding on Linksys SRW224G4P

Google took me straight to the manual. This is a Switch not a router so it operates in layer-2 (ethernet). Layer-2 ports are the interfaces on the back of the switch. You want a router that can do layer-3 TCP/IP port forwarding. Layer-3 ports are unsigned 16-bit integers associated with an IP address and a protocol.

Can't view IP cam externally

Follow The Process:-
1.Visit https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports
input the port 5000 and check is it open or not, if it is not open it means you need to check port forwarding in your main internet router/modem.
2. By Default Routers/Modems Http port it 80. so you need to change ip camera http port 80 to 81 and do port forwarding and to view on android devices check another ports in ip camera network settings. so same port forwarding and check in yougetsignal website.

Port forwarding not working in ok firmware AGL6 or later

According to my very thorough testing some weeks ago, P-660-HW-D1 port forwarding is really very broken.

The worst thing is that not only does the port forwarding work properly, it lets packets to LAN addresses where they're not supposed to go. This means you're not safe behind LAN.

Firewalled or not, AGL.6 or AGL.7 shouldn't be used at all in my opinion, they're unsafe. When in routing mode, and having several LAN machines behind one Zyxel switch port (i.e. separate switch attached), I found that the port forwarding is completely broken.

I have contacted Zyxel Finland about this issue two weeks ago, and they initially thanked for the finding and said they're passing the issue onwards and investigate it.

The best current solution is to downgrade to (also very buggy) AGL.4.

Port forwarding

hi there,
this is a basic step used to forward ports to your system.
Port Forwarding Steps for Routers 1. Log into your router. Usually the URL is http://192.168.1.1/, and enter the username , and the password . If you have never set a password, the password (which you should change) is admin. Consult the manual if you have never set up your router before or need to reset the password. 2. Click on the "Applications & Gaming" tab or Under Advanced, click Port Forwarding.
3. Click on the "Port Range Forward" tab .
4. In the "application" field, type "web" (if you are forwarding wb traffic on port 80) or "torrent" (if you are forwarding bittorrent traffic on port 40156). This is just a "nickname" so that you can recognize what you were trying to do when you come back to it.
5. In the "Start" field, enter: 80
6. In the "End" field, also enter: 80
7. Set "Protocol" to TCP. Web and Bittorrent servers use only TCP, so there's no reason fo forward UDP traffic too and create an unnecessary security risk.
8. In the "IP Address" field, enter: 192.168.1.11 or your system IP address.
9. Click "Save Settings." Forwarding should begin immediately.
