When my BMW 1998 r850r gets it occasionally splutters on tickover, any ideas welcomed

SOURCE: motorcycle fault

Check for a blockage in the fuel tank vent.
Run with the fuel cap cracked open - if it runs fine, try and work out where the vent is blocked.

try cleanin the throttle body with nonchlorinated cleaner-inspect idle air also and egr--make sure plug wires r not old and inspec distributer area--secure a shop manual
