You might want to check your air filter first .. mine was doing the same thing ,.. and i checked the air filter and it was covered in oil so it wasnt getting enough air when i tried to take off ,.. if the air filter looks good , you may want to pull your spark plug and look at it ,.. if it is covered in black it is time for a new one .. or a really good cleaning ,.. i found a wire brush and penetrating oil works well ,.. blow it out with compressed air and wipe off all that you can before you stick it back in ,... other than those i hear the rings are only good for about 20 hours (non-racing)
thats where i would check next ,.. let me know if this helps =D

Check your oil for metal particles. Is your oil level correct? You may have ground the innards to death.

Kx 125 problems

it runs but sputters.
that can be 2 things.
First idd your sparkplug cap has had it (get a new 1 from the parts store)
2nd it could be that your getting to much fuel in top end of your revband.
easy to check just run your bike a few min with a new sparkplug and look at the color.
Wite is not enough fuel.
Brown is perfect mix.
black is to much oil and if black and wet its to much fuel.
try this test and maybe you'll find it

Yz 125 2001. starting ploblem after top end rebuild

Kinda sounds like your needle valve is sticking in your carb and it is giving it to much fuel

2007 125 yz, has a miss before the power valve kicks in. short flat spot then , have keep the revs high to avoid it!!

There's no extra valve that kicks in to give the bike extra power. The term "power band" is simply referring to the RPM range of the motor that produces the most torque. Make sure the carb is clean and check the spark plug gap and fire. You need a hot blue, purplish fire not a weak white looking fire. If the plug itself is whitish in color you need to richen up the carb if it's black you'll need to lean it out. You should have a chocolate almond color. I'd bet the bike is getting too much air.

Bike wont start

that shouldn't stop it from starting unless they were hanging out. in wich case you wouldn't be able to kick it over. you would see signs of oil leakage too. do you have fresh gas and good spark at plug?
