2007 F800ST. 7900 miles. The bike just started stalling when pulling in the clutch and when stopped. The bike had software v. 7.2 The Dealer loaded V. 9.2. The bike doesn't stall but the idle speed has jumped to 1400 rpms at standstill and 2000 rpms over 5 mph. Engine seems to idle rough at 1400. Is there another solution the Dealer didn't discover ? 2000 rpm's is too high.

SOURCE: rough idle stalls at low rpm's

hello first check your idle with the car running foot on brake see were your rpm reading is if your below 500rpm check your label underhood for your curb idle setting second see if theres a adjustment screw you can increase were your gas cable lever rest against your set screw underhood if you feel confident enough remove your iac motor idle air control valve if the bore were the end of the pintle extracts out to close has varnish builup our carbon it will stick creating vacuum leak type senario causing stalling rough idle sometimes even no start conditions good luck

SOURCE: 2000 Lincoln Navigator Stalling at low RPMS sporadically

Idle Air Control (IAC) motor is sticking. You can try taking it off and cleaning it but most likely will have to replace it.

SOURCE: engine stalls after cold start-up & release from high speed idle

I had a similar problem.  I found the filter cartridge below the pcv valve had carboned up, and after the crank case pressurized, oil was forced out the pcv supply line to the throttle body.  The idle air control valve solenoid got oil in it and caused my problem, but only when it was cold.  The pcv cartridge is accessed by removing the pcv valve and the rubber fitting that the pcv valve mounts in.  It can then be fished out with a pick set, and it is a pain because you can't see it, but you can get you hand back there.  I hope this helps you.

2008 Harley Davidson FLSTN Softail Deluxe. Why does my bike want to die when I come to a stop only but runs great when going up and down gears?

The first thing to try is putting a couple of fuel tanks of injector cleaner (properly mixed) through the injection system.

Also clean the IAC (idle air control)

check for the pinched vacuum line at the carb,, sportys are hard to locate because they are tucked in way behind , it ay have come disconnected, unless there is a load on the motor it will idle fine, add a little load and you get the feeling no fuel is getting through unless you rev it up

Loss of power at the end of each gear

If it continues to rev, it is probably not a carb problem.
I assume is has a wet clutch:ie the clutch runs in the engine oil.

Try an oil change, use a four stroke motorcycle engine oil,
Car oils have friction modifiers in them that can cause clutch slip.
and sometimes the expensive synthetic oils are just too slippery.
So try for a mineral oil, the bike shop will help you choose.
