Bike starts when you pull out the choke and runs but dies when you give it throttle

What year? Could have a fueling problem or just an accelerator pump system problem depending on whether or not it completely dies of it just sputters and then runs. Give more details please

My e series 142 spins the chain and idles insanely fast when I have the choke pulled out. Then when I give it throttle it calms down and then I can barely keep it idling. with throttle all the way pulled...

Check air filter- clean or replace, Make sure you have fresh fuel, A new spark while you are giving it a service, Do you know how to tune the saw? Start with basic settings 1 turn on the low and 1 turn on the high And adjust from there, You might have turned the idle up too high. The choke should always be fully in when saw is running. Hope this is a good start

I have had my mantis for five years. It has always been hard to start. From the very beginning I had to move the choke in and out after it started to keep it from dying after it started. Each year it has...

I feel it might be time to overhaul the carburetter. Clean out all the passages and jets, especially the little screen that is pressed into a hole under the one diaphragm. Clean out the recess for the needle and seat and replace all the gaskets, the valve plate and the primer bulb. Also check the fuel tubes and the filter at the end of the intake tube (if it has one). If there is too much wear on either the choke shaft or the throttle shaft, it may just pay you to replace the carb completely.

I have a 2003 ttr225 I can get the bike to start with the choke on ihave to let it warm up for an extremly long time before I can push in the choke . once the bike is warm and I hit the throttle hard ,...

Sounds like the idle circuit in the carb is restricted. The engine is running on the choke only. When the engine reaches a certain temp the fuelthat does get is more readily burned allowing you to back off the choke. The choke probsbly can't be completely opened? right? Fuel quality is also something to consider Oil content in fuel affects combustion temps and volatility. _good luck_Ned_

Shindaiwa Blower - when throttle pushed, engine sounds flooded and it dies. any thoughts on how to fix?

Its not flooded- its lean.
Heres a way to test me. Try to give it throttle but keep it running. At the same time slowly close the choke. does it run better as you close the choke? Does it run pretty good on half choke?
Rebuild the carb, replace the fuel lines and fuel filter.

Is there a choke setting and throttle setting for best results in getting the MTD yarde amchine started?

Most of the small outdoor power equipment that I have used takes the following to start:

1. Prime 6-8 times, or whatever the manual calls for.

2. Choke the carb to full choke.

3. Pull starter rope. It may sputter and die.

4. After it sputters and dies, put the choke on 1/2. Pull a time or 2 more and should start. Run like that 10 seconds or so, then take choke all the way off.

When i give my pit bike throttle it cuts off, when it first starts its real low rpm and when i give it throttle it makes a grinding sound and dies, i can restart it but it keeps doing it

Check first your carburator settings to make sure that it is running properly and not choked. If that doesn't solve it then there could be something broken or messed up anywhere from in the clutch system to the gearbox depending on what the drivetrain is.

Engine starts but dies when I pull throttle trigger

you need to adjust the high speed needle turn it out in 1/4 increments as you throttle it, low speed may have to come out alittle but do high speed first. I had to answer this as I use to have a pastor john in sturgeon bay, miss him alot.
