Piaggio MachG AC - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

Hello there, I have a problem with my Piaggio X9 500, 2002 model dashboard. When I turn the key on, the injection, alarm, rear brake, gas reserve, low and high beam bulbs do not check initially , thought they work fine after when I press each button. Could you please give me any suggestion? (the dashboard clocks are NEW!)

Nice description of your trouble. Guess that you are not too mechanically inclined, (neither me, btw) so if your Piaggio is making "pop po po" take it to a mechanical service.

you could connect it to any bolt or screw nearby on the frame, just clear off any paint under the bolt. so yopu get a good contact.

Something is wrong with the fuel supply. Since you have flow thru the return pipe it means that the problem is either in the pressure regulator or the injector .
To check them you will need to do 2 tests:
1 - to determine the location of the fault detach the fuel line from the injector, put it in a can and try to start the engine - if the fuel squirts with pressure then the regulator is good and you need to test the injector itself;
2 - connect the fuel line back to the injector, put a multimeter across the contacts and check the voltage when you try to start the engine - if it shows less than 6 volts you have an electrical problem (either a faulty wiring or a defective ECM); if it shows over 6 volts you have a clogged injector - the entire fuel system will have to be cleaned.

i strongly recommend that you take the bike to someone who knows, brakes are not to be messed with by people who donot know what they are doing ,ITS A SAFETY THING

Question edited for a lot more clarity, and spelling of carburetor. Question moved from Garden to model category. The float in the bottom of the carb is likely stuck. Try tapping the bowl at the base with the handle of a screwdriver. The most likely reason to me is that the throttle cable has never been lubricated. I used to do mine every 6 months and I rode every day. Once the cable is off, you can operate the carburetor by hand and feel if it is opening easily. you disturbed something, only you can find that, or get the bike (trike) in a shop.

Charge the battery with your battery charger from anywhere you can find a positive wire like on the starter or a light bulb and ground to any bolt.

You need to trace back to where the discharge is taking place, when you connect the battery terminals is there a significant spark happening?
