1. make sure it is fully charged2.make sure battery teminals are clean and tight3.Check for any fuses or relays4.Check the starter cylnoid most likeliy the problem5.If so sometimes you can tap on the starter cylnoid with a wrench and it will engauge to ensure that is what it is or you can take a srew driver and touch the leads on the starter to test it.6.Replace starter or the cylnoid

They can short out in the ignition switch or kill switch

push the kick start through until you get to a hard spot(TDC) then hold the decompresser and kick it just a little more to get it past top dead centre. release the lever
then one good kick, do not touch the throttle, even hold the bar not the grip so your not tempted to give it a squirt.


If it also has the hot start lever, or button this is for when the bike is quite hot and it leans out the mixture for starting, activate the lever and start the bike, then release the lever. This also helps if youve had a little lie down and the bike is flooded

what also helps starting is
new spark plug
clean air filter
new oil
check valve clearances
a small squirt of upper cylnder lube in the tank

try it with the choke on, if this helps it is lean
Try again with the hot start lever, if this helps it is rich

sounds rich at idle

Try to fix your jetting by making the fuel and air mixture richer or you may need to clean the carburetor.
