Throttle bogs down
there is a coating in fuel tank these bits loosen and go into carbs and block all jets, if you havent done this and this fixes problem you best put an inline fuel filter on bike to stop debris going into carb, these filters are good for a thousand miles i would recommend a car on like they used to have on old minis they are £1.98 on ebay
As left out in rain and now won' start why?
Sound like a rusted throttle cable. Make sure all the moving parts are moving. The other problem with things that sit, carburetor should be cleaned from shellac, from old gas
Flashers don't work
First thing so would check is the fuses on the bike and replace any blown fuses. Next I would check is to see if the signal relay is not corroded, and finally try replacing the flasher relay.
Bike battery drains fast, bike seat & area below seat gets too hot to sit on
It sounds as though the seat pan might be coming into contact with the battery and thus causing the seat to heat up and drain the battery all at once. My question would be if the battery was recently replaced and an incorrect sized battery was used. If battery isn't under the seat pan itself, check for wires that might have insulation damage that could cause a short and draining the battery. Also some people have installed heated grips on their bikes, maybe the switch for that isn't off when not in use and causing a drain.
Sprayed brake switch on 650 Yamaha v star now
Sprayed the brake switch, with what? Water? If so, you can try to use some contact cleaner spray and spray into the switch area and work the switch to help it penetrate. WD40 is also a water displacement item which might help, but it may also require relubrication of the brake lever/perch. You may also check on the perch to see if you can clean and dry the wiring connector that runs from the perch back. A hair dryer or heat gun might help dry it out also.
Llost my key how do i obtain another
I had to call a gut specializing in motorcycle ignition keys. Either that or have one ordered from a dealer. If you live in Colorado, the guy I used for a new key to be made when mine was lost is: Ayers Front Range Lock & Key. (Robert or David Ayers) 303-466-1841 Prices are good and they come to you. Fast and easy service. I recommend using them. I hope this helps.
I have a 2003 vstar
Check your float levels. At one time Yamaha Grizzleys had a problem with the float needle plating coming off causing the floats to stick. We had to put K&L aftermarket float needles in for two years until Yamaha decided to address the problem. They still may not acknowledge it. Also check the choke mechanism carefully just in case it malfunctioning during high vacuum/acceleration conditions. If the carb uses choke plungers make sure the rubber is in good condition and the mounting nuts on the carbs are not cracked.
