Why wont it run with the choke in?
Do a leak down test to confirm leaky intake valves is where I would start fist is highly likely on older bike that one or two of the intake valves is not sealing well - if test out good then it is back to investigating the carbi pilot circuit and replacing pilot jet.
I contrary to many still would always start with leak down test first - I find it very frustrating to spend hours for no results. at least once tested you can spend your time fixing instead of time just eliminating one possibility
good luck regards Jamie

May I suggest a trip to your local library. Cycle repair books should be in 646 stacks of reference.
Of course, you can look up Clymer Motorcycle service manuals online, or purchase at your local bike shop.

Check for spark and fuel. The spark should be blueish-white and consistently flashing. If the ark is dull-orange and/or inconsistent then there is a problem. the fuel should flow freely from the pet-****, through the needle and seat, and past the primary and secondary jets. There are other things that can cause this problem, check the intake manifold gasket, spark plug, wire, water in the gas, and so on. well good luck.
Front tyre continuously having flat tyres? After 2
If you are using it for its' designed purpose, then this is going to happen. Off road riding has its' drawbacks, and you have found one of them. This is why most off road riders use tubed tyres and bolted tyres (to the wheel). You may need to adjust the tyre pressure to stop the tube creeping in the tyre. It will be trial and error to get the pressure right for your style of riding.

Hi, a yamaha TT350 actually has a 4 stroke engine. To replace the kick starter shaft, You need to remove the crankcase cover on the kick starter side of the engine..
The clutch basket etc will then have to be removed. '
You then use a set of needle nose pliers to unhook the kickstarter return spring from its post in the crankcase.
Release the return spring and allow it to relax. Then rotate the kickstarter assembly counterclockwise by hand , and remove the shaft assembly from the crankcase. Reverse this process to refit.
You can buy cheap workshop manuals for the yamaha XT/TT 350 models. Clymer manuals make them, there are usually good second hand ones on ebay etc,
the XT/TT350 workshop manual number is
M480-3.
These workshop manuals are a "must have" when working on bikes or cars etc, and by following a manual, at least you'll know that the job has been done safely and 100% correctly.
