How do i take the forks off of my yamaha fzr 600

This is best done with a motorcycle floor lift to support the motorcycle.
Remove the front brake calipers, remove the front wheel, remove the front fender, loosen the 2 pinch bolts on the lower bracket and the pinch bolts on the upper bracket slide the forks down.

No spark at plugs and coils getting hot

Sounds like a bad ignition module to me, to confirm, a simple test with an old "timing light" would confirm, had a friend jump start one of these and that blew the module on his, same thing happened. They DO NOT like being jump started!

How does the timing chain adjuster work?

hi,if it is anything like the 400r,the tensioner will be automatic and non adjustable, normally the chain guides wear out before the adjuster reaches it outer limit, they are quite esay to replace but you need to take the cams out to do it,you will probably find that a lot of the noise coming from the motor is the clutch basket,as a matter of course they are quite noisy once you start to get a few km on the bike...cheers

Just use the better known brands like Shell, Mobil, Pennzoil, Quaker State, etc.. Do not get the ones with "Special" additives. NEVER use synthetics. Some of the additives and most of the synthetics will swell the cork on the clutch friction plates. Then the clutch will not disengage. Other synthetics can be too slick and cause the clutch to slip. Use 10w40 motor oil and you are doing good.

For the manual, try www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp

They have over 1300 manuals for free download. It may take 20 seconds or so to build the entire list. They show your model but you can't be sure of the year without doing a download. By the way, The service procedures are the same '96 to '97.

1995 fzr600 bogs out a little when taking off

Drain the carburetors. There should be a screw on the lower side of each carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Any water in the gas? Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ). Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carbs to fill with gas. Install a new stock NGK spark plugs and try to start the engine. If the bike doesn't start and run properly get back to me.

Please rate this solution. Thanks!

Fzr6 running lumpy

il try n help m8,, can i start by eliminating a few things,, have u made sure all 4 carb floats are the same height ,they need to be, ,and there is no holes in the diaphrams at the top of the carbs,,even a pin hole will give u grief,, ,,wot happens wen u pull the choke out wen motor is warm and idling,, if it evens out and pipes warm up then theres a blockage in 3 and 4 carb, and idel jets,or could have a split vacume pipe, or a air leak between the carb and cylinder,,if all fuel symtoms are ok ,, then make sure the coil wires are on properly, and good spark on the coolest cylinders, , try swapping over the coils to to see if the left cylinder becomes cooler than the right,,hope that gives an idea,,

1995 yamaha 600 wont start

Is the kill switch on? Good battery? The side stand should be up. Is the choke on? Is the bike in neutral? Have you checked the fuses? Headlight should be off.

Get new stock plugs from the dealer. Check to see that the choke will open and close properly. Drain the carbs then remove and clean the fuel valve water trap bowl. Check the wiring harness for unplugged wires and loose connections. When was the last time you installed an air filter?
