Are you wanting the size of the hex bolt head or the thread size and bolt length? Most oil pan plug bolts are either 17mm (5/8th socket) or 19mm (3/4" socket) bolt heads.

1995 Yamaha Virago 535. It runs good for about 7 miles then starts backfiring?

  1. Fuel System Issues:
    • Check the fuel system for clogs, such as a dirty fuel filter or carburetor jets.
    • Ensure that the fuel tank and fuel lines are clean and free from debris.
    • Consider adding a fuel system cleaner to help clean out any deposits.
  2. Ignition System Problems:
    • Inspect the spark plugs for fouling, wear, or improper gap.
    • Check the ignition timing to make sure it's set correctly.
    • Inspect the ignition coils and wiring for any loose connections or damage.
  3. Air Intake and Exhaust Issues:
    • Examine the air filter for clogs or dirt that may restrict airflow.
    • Inspect the exhaust system for any leaks or blockages.
  4. Vacuum Leaks:
    • Check for vacuum leaks in hoses, gaskets, or intake boots. A vacuum leak can cause an improper air-fuel mixture, leading to backfiring.

How to plug the ais on a 2001 Yamaha vstar 650

If your Yamaha Vstar 650 is backfiring when decelerating, it could be due to a lean fuel mixture or an air leak. One solution is to adjust the air/fuel mixture screw on the carburetor, but before doing that, it's recommended to check and address the following:
  1. Inspect the exhaust system: Make sure there are no holes, leaks, or loose connections in the exhaust system. Fix any issues if found.
  2. Check for air leaks: Inspect the intake manifold and carburetor boot for any cracks, loose connections, or air leaks. If you find any, fix them and ensure a tight seal.
  3. Clean or replace the air filter: A dirty or clogged air filter can affect the air/fuel mixture. Clean or replace the air filter if necessary.
  4. Check carburetor jets: If the bike has been sitting for a while or the carburetor hasn't been cleaned in a long time, there might be debris or clogs in the jets. Remove and clean the carburetor jets.
  5. Adjust the air/fuel mixture: Locate the air/fuel mixture screw on the side of the carburetor. Gradually turn it clockwise or counterclockwise (usually clockwise) until the backfiring reduces or stops. Start with small adjustments, and make note of the screw's original position in case you need to revert the changes.
  6. If the backfiring persists, it is recommended to consult a motorcycle mechanic or Yamaha dealership for further diagnosis and assistance.

2007 Vino cranks but won't start...doesn't seem to even try to run. New battery, cleaned & checked spark plug, got spark, fuel is getting thru the fuel kok. Ideas?

If you've verified you have good spark on the plugs while turning over the engine with starter.... And if the plugs are wet with fuel after attempting to start the bike, then it is very likely that the timing is badly off. Checking the timing to specs. In the manual.

2007 / 1700 Yamaha Midnight Silverado check engine light is staying on the bike will crank and run but when you put it in gear it shuts off

If it is an engine warning light you will need to get it plugged into an OBD2 diagnostic system. The light might not be for the carb. It could be for a separate issue. The OBD system will give Trouble codes which are clues to where the issue could be.

2013ignitionswitchremoval

To remove the ignition switch on a 2013 Yamaha Royal Star, you can follow these general steps: 1. Disconnect the Battery: Begin by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery to ensure safety and prevent accidental electrical issues. 2. Remove the Ignition Switch Cover: Locate the ignition switch on the motorcycle's handlebars. On some models, there may be a plastic cover or panel that needs to be removed to access the switch. Use a screwdriver or appropriate tool to remove any screws or clips holding the cover in place. 3. Disconnect Wiring: Once you have access to the ignition switch, you'll find electrical connectors or wires attached to it. Carefully disconnect these connectors by gently pulling them apart or by releasing any locking mechanisms. 4. Remove Mounting Screws/Bolts: The ignition switch is typically secured to the handlebars or the surrounding housing with mounting screws or bolts. Use the appropriate tool (screwdriver or wrench) to remove these screws or bolts. 5. Remove the Ignition Switch: Once the mounting screws/bolts are removed, you can now detach the ignition switch from the handlebars or housing. Gently pull or wiggle the switch to free it from its position. 6. Install the Replacement Ignition Switch: If you are replacing the ignition switch with a new one, follow the reverse process. Align the new switch with the mounting holes and secure it with the screws or bolts. Reconnect the electrical connectors or wires to the appropriate terminals. 7. Reassemble and Reconnect the Battery: Put back the ignition switch cover or panel if you removed one in the first step. Double-check that all connections are secure. Finally, reconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Please note that the exact steps and specific requirements may vary depending on the model and configuration of your Yamaha Royal Star. It's always a good idea to consult the motorcycle's service manual for detailed instructions or seek assistance from a professional motorcycle technician if you are unsure about any step of the process.

Yamaha news mate v50 coil pack

I apologize, but I couldn't find specific information regarding a "Yamaha News Mate V50" or "Yamaha News Mate V50 bike maginto coil pack" in my training data. It's possible that the model name or terminology might be different, or it could be a less common or regional variant. In general, the ignition system of motorcycles, including coil packs, helps generate the spark required to ignite the fuel-air mixture in the combustion chamber. If you are experiencing issues with the coil pack on your Yamaha News Mate V50 or any other motorcycle, here are a few steps you can take: 1. Visual inspection: Inspect the coil pack and its wiring for any signs of damage, such as cracks, corrosion, loose connections, or frayed wires. Ensure that all connections are secure. 2. Testing the coil pack: Use a multimeter to test the primary and secondary resistance of the coil pack. Consult the manufacturer's specifications or a service manual for the acceptable resistance values. If the readings are outside the recommended range, the coil pack may be faulty and should be replaced. 3. Professional assistance: If you are uncertain about how to proceed or if the issue persists after visual inspection and testing, it's advisable to consult a professional motorcycle mechanic or authorized Yamaha service center. They will have the necessary expertise and tools to diagnose the specific problem with your Yamaha News Mate V50 and provide appropriate solutions. Additionally, if you have more detailed or specific information about the issue you are facing with the coil pack, please provide additional details, and I'll do my best to assist you further.

How to restart my motorbike that hasn't been used in sitting around for a year and a half

Start with the basics. Fresh new fuel and a fully charged battery. Make sure it is in neutral and if it has a fuel tap that it is in the open position. If it has a kick start you can 'prime' the engine. With the ignition OFF and the fuel supply ON kick the engine over 3 or 4 times. Then turn the ignition ON and try starting the engine. Only crank the engine with the electric start for short 3 second bursts.
