Today while riding my 92 rm250 it just died and wouldn't fire back up when I tried kick starting it. Could it b a fouled out plug or time for New piston and rings. How do I find our for sure?

When you kick it over you should feel compression, if the compression is there the piston and rings should be alright (or at least not the reason for the no start) To check the plug simply pull it out and smell it, if it wreaks of fuel, its probably fouled out, its pretty common to foul out a plug, and its the best place to start when replacing parts due to it being quite inexpensive. Good luck!

How do I tighten the chain on my 1982 Suzuki rm250

Back of the rear axle nut, then back of the adjuster lock nuts. You then wind the adjuster bolts in equal amounts on each side. When chain has correct tension tighten down the adjuster lock nuts and the axel nut.

I recently bought a rm

Hi
I have looked on several vin number websites and this number is not recognised.
I would suggest you ask at a suzuki dealer to make sure it is a valid number.

Stator smoking getiing hot

I would check the stator to see if it's grounding out against the case first. If the stator checks ok then it might be residual just burning off. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/robert_5bac37c3cb991fdb

You should check oil and if your bike is liquid cooled check coolant. check chain tension and get a tq wrench and go over axle bolts, brake bolts, tree bolts, drain plug, ect all these specs can be yours from your dealer. also check for any leaks.

Can i fit a Suzuki RM 250 engine on Suzuki Ts 250 frame

Yes. you may need to make some engine mounts to fit the new engine to the old frame, but you will also need to transfer the electrical harness from the RM to the TS chassis.

Rm 250 starting issues

This may help you determine the problem.1. is sprkplug oil fouled? wet? dry? superhot and white electrode?A sparkplug will always tell you whats going on.if its too wet then its not burning all the fuel and oil and flooding out.if its extremely hot and white, then its running lean , and needs more fuel.also make sure your running 50:1 fuel oil mix.a hot two stroke is hard to start.if plug is dry, then its not getting enough fuel.2. make sure your fuel oil mixture is 50:1.to much oil is okay but it may smoke alotway to much oil will oil foul the plug and plug will have oil on it.to little oil will make the bike run hot and start damaging the bottom end crank bearings as well as your rings , then piston and cylinder walls.the plug will be whitish and hot.3. as for the timing , the rotor is resting on a keyway on the crankshaft and will only move out of time if the keyway is sheared.4. make sure you have good spark when bike wont start.a coil that is going bad will work cold but may not when it gets warmed upto sum it up check to make sure you have correct fuel mixturecheck you sparkplug to see how its burningmake sure you have good sparkif you have good spark, good fuel, good compression, then it should start within 2 kicks everytime.i have a blaster 2 stoke 4 wheeler, starts everytimesince i rebuilt it.i hope this helps you out and you can enjoy the rest of the summer with your dirtbike.best regardsBig Al

Why is my 93 rm 250 smoking and losing power is 1st and 2nd gear

sounds like worn piston rings. In 1st ans 2nd gears the engine wants to rev highest to make maximum powere so rings get a bit worn and oil will be sucked past. Change the rings and try again

I have a 93 suzuki

The timing is preset from new and is not usually needed to be changed, even if it was out there would still be spark, just not at the right time. It could be the coil or wiring.
The stator make the electrical power not the spark, a small pick up coil triggers the main coil to spark

Can you use a different 2 cycle pre mix after a different one

Yes you can; but it is a very good idea to drain your carburettor(small phillips screw at the bottom of the float bowl, sometimes an allen screw) with the FUEL OFF at the fuel tap at the bottom of the tank. Then remove the fuel line from the tank to carby at the carby end, and drain ALL the fuel out of the tank(ensure to switch the fuel tap tap 'reserve', if applicable). Actually it's a really good occasion to remove the fuel tank completely, and rinse it out with a cupful of the new fuel mixture; but I don't know how committed you are to maintenance...If you don't follow this procedure to separate the two different fuel mixes, you may get partial solidification of some components of the fuel/oil mix. Then again, nothing may happen: but it is better to be safe than sorry!
