2003 Suzuki VL 1500 Intruder LC Questions & Answers
How much oil in front forks?
The fork oil should come to just below the bottom of the threads of the bolt by the o ring. do not use regular motor oil as it doesn't have the correct viscosity that fork oil has. Make sure both forks have the same amount of oil to prevent an unbalanced feel to the front end
My front wheel or handlebar shakes at 35-40 when I take my hands off the handlebars.
First, the original steering head bearings are notorious for early failure due to a plastic housing. This is usually the problem. They need replacing with a good aftermarket tapered set with steel casings. Do not use OEM! You can get them at Metric Thunder.com. Second, make sure your front tire isn't cupping, this can be from the bearings, and also from low air pressure. Also, the recommended air pressure is too low. You need to run about 36 psi front, and about 38 rear. Lastly, check out this forum, its specific to your bike, and a wealth of info...
Battery changing
I installed Battery Tender and ran plug to convenient location on side of bike. I keep bike plugged in whenever I'm not riding. If you just need to charge it, remove cover and connect directly to terminals. I'd recommend trickle charge overnight rather than rapid charge.
How do you rebuild the rear master cylinder on a
1. Remove it.2. Disassemble it. You will need snap ring pliers.3. Reassemble it with new rubber seals.4. Reinstall it and bleed the brake system.(Check price on replacement, as it may be comparable to the price of just the parts.)

disc.

2003 Suzuki VL 1500 Intruder LC REAR DISC RATTLE,HOW DO I REPLACE IT?
Hello Dale, this is an easy job on your bike. Use a flat head screw driver and remove the brake pad cover...it will pop off. Remove the hairpin type clips off of the ends of the brake pad pins.... Use pliers & pull the brake pad pins out from the front of the rear brake caliper....Clean the rear brake caliper's piston with brake cleaner. Use a rag and wipe it clean...Reinsert the old brake pads into the caliper. Place a pry bar between the brake pads, then push the inner piston into the caliper body, this will allow room to install new pads.... Remove the old brake pads...Coat the brake pad pins and the new brake pads metal back plates with high-temperature grease. Slip the new brake pads into the rear brake caliper, then push the brake pad pins halfway into the caliper. Slip the spring clips into place between the brake pads and the brake pad pins. Push the brake pad pins completely through the rear brake caliper. Push the hairpin clips back into the brake pad pin tips. Snap the brake pad cover onto the top of the rear brake caliper....Pump the rear brake pedal until the pedal feels firm, indicating that the brake pads have closed around the brake rotor...No bleeding will be needed because the system was never opened - That's all there is to it...i hope this information is helpful & good luck with your bike.
How do I get my
push the key in and turn it back toward the front of the bike. You may have to jiggle it a bit. Thats how I get mine out. Rich
New Battery. After riding Bike for several hours,
Faulty Stator( alternator). When the bike is running, at that time its continuously charged by the stator.
-----------
In your case the stator is faulty, so its not charging the battery to make your bike run.Get the stator and regulator/ rectifier checked by the local garage, and replace the faulty one.-------
Any of the one is fauilty, that is confirm, but getting it checked should help.So you can replace as per that.

This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.
Is Idle adjustment important when
No, idle adjustment isn't the important thing. Amount of riding and amount of time parked is the thing. If you don't ride much, and it is parked for long lengths of time between rides, you will have a lower battery condition.
However, if you ride a lot and it doesn't get parked for long periods of time, you may want to charge the battery fully then put load test on it to check for one or more dead cells in the battery.
If the battery is not the problem, then you will need to check your charging system.
Where is the fuel shut
There is not a fuel shut off on this bike it has a electric fuel pump and one is not used.
