Suspension, Brakes and Tires
The 2004 Suzuki Volusia 800 comes with an oil-damped telescopic front suspension, and link-type, oil-damped, seven-way adjustable rear suspension with spring preload. The front and rear brakes are single disc. The bike has a 130/90-16 front tire and a 170/80-15 rear tire.

Have you try to rev it up stationary (no load) and with load on its centre stand, any RPM drop or struggling?
Have you checked the jet seats, idle jet seats, perhaps fuel filter.rectifier/regulator state, float bowl seating impedement, vacuum line and oil level.
Does it burn any oil or have low compression in cylinders or valve are not closing properly?
How many quarts of oil does the Suzuki VL800 take?

Note: This bike does not have a dipstick, but a sight-glass on the right side of the crankcase. To get an accurate estimate of the oil level, the bike must also be level and not on the side stand.
