1500 LC jumps out of gear occassionaly
you probably have either bent shifting forks in the transmission ..or a gear with bad teeth either is expensive and will have to be done by a experianced person ...you should check with the dealer and see if there is any adjustment on them to be safe

when the shop rebuilt the carbs did they reinstall the carbs on the bike?it sounds to me like the rear cylinder is running very rich,the carbs will need to be set up with the mixtures and balance done,this is not expensive to do and is critical to the good performance of the bike,most reputable bike shops will be able to do this,hope this helps
Fork oil is leaking
It's not difficult, but is messy and needs a special tool or a bit of ingenuity.
You could save yourself a bunch of cash by stripping them off, cleaning them, emptying the existing oil out and cleaning out the fork - then whip it into your local shop for a seal replacement and top up.

So is the battery...ignition needs "X" amount of Volts to run the ignition, the BANG you heard was the engine pre-igniting a fuel mixture in the combustion chamber - because the ignition didn't have enough juice to fire the plug...but the HEAT of the engine DID!
Replace the battery with one from WalMart and Ride!

Oil blowing out of exhaust
Run it out, The oil has collect in the exhaust media and baffles. Iver fill can cause this proble. As long as it has oil in it, run it out (burn it out) If the oil is low when you ck it, and that should be often, Then note it. Valve guide wear is progressive and the engine would smoke. Keep the oil level proper and take it on a mellow ride, no hard throttling. You should see an improvement after about 20 miles down the freewayat 60. Just stay alertand pay attention to the sound of the motor. Good luck and let me know when you get back.
