Transmission wont shift out of neutral on a 2001 suzuki gsxr 1000

Hey Kurama, Has this bike been dropped on the shifter (left) side? I take that it won't shift up or down?... ... Do you mean check the shift shaft? (the shift fork(s) are inside the engine and cannot be checked without splitting the cases). the shift shaft may be bent...reply back..

When I take off from a stop my RPM's shoot up and it takes a while for my bike to actually accelerate. This is happening in all gears, but when I get to about 8-9k is when i get a huge power boost.

indications are that the clutch is not engaging properly and is slipping this can be from a bad clutch cable that is jamming in the outer case and not allowing full engagement it can also be from incorrect oil in the clutch plate section which will cause the clutch to slip even if correctly adjusted

I have a 2001gsxr 1000 at about 70mph I loose Power like I throttled back. What could cause that.

Hello Jay, You could have a dirty fuel filter, a weak fuel pump, or a restriction in your exhaust system.

COOLING FAN ISSUE

is the engine over heating. Fan issue doesn't sound like a problem. Check the filament for the high beam.

How to set tps on a 2001 gsxr 1

Step 1: Remove front seatStep 2: Locate Dealer Mode connector, it resides just behind the battery, it is a white connector with a rubber cover on it, it has 5 or 6 wires going into it.Step 3: Put bike in dealer mode, take a paper clip or a wire with two stripped ends and connect the two pinsp1.jpgTo ensure the bike is in dealer mode, look at the gauges and the temperature should be replaced with "C00" and a little "-" next to the code, the "-" is what you will be observing while adjusting the throttle position sensor. There are three positions of the "-" (top, middle, bottom)p2.jpgStep 4: Remove the right side fairingStep 5: Locate the tamper proof torx screwit's behind the cable bundle you see running along the top of the triangular hole in the framep3.jpgYou can get the torx head screwdrivers needed for this screw at any auto parts store, just ask them where to find the tamper proof torx screwdrivers. I couldn't find my torx head driver, so I'm unsure of the proper size needed.Step 6: VERY Slightly loosen the torx screw (the black plastic piece behind the torx screw is your TPS)Step 7: Reach into the frame and grip the TPS and begin observing the "-" on the gauges. Adjust until the "-" JUST hits the top position. Find the point that it juggles back and forth between middle and top then move it up just far enough that it doesn't juggle anymore. VERY carefully tighten the screw, if you're not careful the TPS will move while you're tightening the screw.Step 8: Remove paperclip or wire from dealer mode switch, and replace the rubber capStep 9: Re-assemble bike and ENJOY

Gsxr turns on but dosent kick over then battery runs flat even with jumpstart

take the old battery out and hook a full battery directly to the terminals .the old battery could be so bad ,it will "load" down another battery.or use a pair of jumper cables and a car battery even better

Fi light is on, last time i drove it i ran it out

Fill tank with 93 octane add injector cleaner, you may need to charge battery before your running. All gas has water the older the gas the more water, running out of gass draws the water into fuel lines and injectors. Good luck

Fyi, the clutch must be pulled in. It sounds like you either are not remembering to pull the clutch in or the switch connected to the clutch perch is faulty. You can jump the two wires to test this.

F1 red stays lit, and

F1 is actually FI, Fuel Injection. The sensors on the injection system have found a problem and are alerting you to have the system Checked. Go to a dealer and let them hook up a code reader. The reader will show what the sensors have found. Then you can decide if you want to do the repair because it is simple (like a dirty air filter), or have the shop do the repair because you really don't want to replace the injectors yourself. Please rate my answer. Thanks.
