1998 Suzuki VS 1400 Intruder will not turn over

Hi, Dancindj01 before testing any electrical component in the Starting Circuit it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries. 1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position. 2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position. 3. Engine Run Switch is "FAULTY" or corroded. 4. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter. 5. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty. 6. FOB battery low or dead. 7. Faulty ignition switch. 8. Faulty starter button. 9. Faulty kickstand, clutch, neutral safety switch. 10. Security alarm needs a reset. 11. Starter relay, solenoid, starter motor or circuit wiring faulty. 12. Starter armature or field coils have failed. 13. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty. 14. Faulty ignition relay. 15. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed. 16. Check for engine trouble codes. Location of oil filter for 1998 suzuki 1500

Look at the front of the motor behind the front wheel. You should find it there. When you install a new one, put oil in it first and let it soak into the filter, then install. Replace the drain plug crush washer too. Every time you change the oil. Chaz Moto DC

How do I bleed the clutch?

Bleeding the clutch is similar to bleeding brakes, only easier. Take the lid of the clutch master cylinder, on the clutch side. If it's leaking, check for cracks. Also check the rubber seal inside the lid to make sure it is sealing all around the reservoir. With the lid off, pour some DOT 4 fluid into the reservoir, and slowly squeeze the clutch to get some air out of the clutch. When you see only fluid moving back and forth, release the clutch, fill the reservoir to the upper line or a little below the top. Have a rag handy to wipe any overflow, as dot 4 removes paint. Tighten up top of master cylinder, and work clutch until you can feel the back pressure.

After standing for about two days it will start but run for aprox 5min shutdown wont start again only after standing for for 2-3 days it will do it again

Need more info. At this point you are really asking for a troubleshooting flowchart. The best advice I have is that you start with the easiest to check issues and avoid throwing parts at the problem. You need to isolate a specific problem area by going through steps checking obvious issues. For example; does the fuel flow when it starts or not. Is there spark at the plugs after it dies... At least if you resolve if it is fuel or electronic that is the problem you will get better help with this. A great place to get very good free help is to join a Suzuki owners forum.

I just replace the regulator

Sir, check your sparkplugs if there is current or electric, you can use sparktester or do it manually out your sparkplug and put it on the top of the head cover of the engine then start the motorcycle if the sparkplug sparks meaning to say electric is ok. check your fuel and your carburetor, bleed your carburetor to check if there is gasoline in the carburetor. thanks, i hope your motorcycle will start.

Can't bleed clutch, lever will not build up any

Some are hard to bleed without a pressure bleeder. They only cost abt $35 & are often quite helpful for the bike brake cylinders as well. I also have a vacuum bleeder that the line goes over the bleeder. Either should work fine, since these systems are so small just a little air in the system can make your clutch not work. If you dont have either, i would reccomend buying the vacuum bleeder first. Rick

Suzuki Intruder VS400 with UK 'R reg'. It starts every time but soon as you put it in gear to take off it cuts out.

The most likely thing is a sticking clutch. With the ignition off, can you drop it into second gear and push it with the clutch pulled in? You say you put 'new petrol' in, so it sounds like it has been stored for a while. Clutches will often stick as the clutch plates have been under pressure for so long. Fully warm the engine before moving off until the plates free up.And it looks like you probably mean VS1400 not VS400!There is help herehttps://www.google.com/search?q=suzuki+intruder+vs1400+stalls+when+put+in+gear..

On my 2000 Suzuki Intruder GS1400, when removing the front tire do I have to remove the brake caliper off the forks?

Yes it is easier to work if you do. The caliper will easily slide off the disc if left in place, but not quite so easy putting the wheel and disc back in. Here is the VS1400 Service Manual

When i went to get

This sounds like an issue with your clutch. It looks like you have a hydraulic clutch, so it may just need to be bled. As long as it is something in the clutch actuation, like the master or slave cylinders, it is not all that expensive. However, if it is a problem with the clutch itself, it can be an expensive fix. First thing to check is to see if the clutch fluid reservoir has fluid or not.
