Bike was running perfect then
Sounds serious, but good that you have compression. Can you remove the head? If yes, you can get a look at the cylinder walls.
Hard to diagnose without disassembly.
I have a 1982 KDX80
If you have spark but putting gas down the spark plug hole doesn't even seem to allow the engine to fire up for a few seconds, then you might have a timing problem.
Compression, if you feel it or measure it with a gauge, is usually not the problem on these motorcycles.
Look for timing.

32 to 1. That means 4 ounces of engine oil per gallon of gas. Be sure to use 2 stroke ENGINE oil, not standard Motor oil. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

I need to replace the
It is a massive job you are talking about doing there. The engine must be removed, and entirely dismantled. Then the engine cases must be split to remove the crank. Not something you should attempt without a work shop manual, and lots of mechanical knowledge.
The crank bearings need to be pressed on.
Im thinking that my 99
It can be un-flooded if you let the bike sit for a half an hour to an hour if its not starting check your spark plug or replace it and check to make sure your carburetor is not dirty.
Im not getting spark on my 1986 kx 125.
Use a volt meter or test light to see if have output. If not check that you have a good ground everywhere. I am assuming that you have changed the plug wire if you went this far. Good Luck
I need a free owners manual for oil problems in
go to bikebandit.com and look under the oem parts. it should be a list on the left side of the page. and find manufacturer. then it is all diagrams from there once you choose the bike. note: all of the parts are numbers and it is a list of what everything is called and priced. it really helped me out and still does. hope this helps.

Help
It sound as if the top-end of your motor is getting a bit tired. Being a two-stoke engine you'll have less components to work with then a four-stroke. You'll want to remove the head and cylinder. Take your time with it and keep it clean. Do it right and have the cylinder cleaned up with a new piston and rings. On assembly use a torque wrench, you'll be working with aluminum so it strips easily. I am uncertain if you need to pull the engine but if not I'm sure you'll want to remove the fuel tank, exhaust and carb. Use a digital camera or phone to take photos as you go. Take the time to tag parts as to what goes where (A to A, B to B) Clean all items before assembly.. do it right the first time.
Hope this helps,
Tom
The bike does not hit thepower band
Need to know the year of the bike, but you may find that your powervalve is not working or lifting up to open the exhaust port fully.Does it rev cleanly otherwise? You could also have a carb issue if it doesn't.
I also find that if the bike has a high mileage the carbon build up in the expansion chamber will be too much and then it will need to be burnt out...this can improve the performance significantly.
Please leave some positive feedback for me if this solves your problem and get back to me if you need to.
Thanks
