How do i change kickstarter

Just remove the right side cover to expose the kick start mechanism. Remove the bolt on the end of the shaft, tow washers and guide then the spring. It has been awhile since I worked on the KX 250, but as I recall, the clutch does not need to be removed in the process of replacing the spring. I could be wrong on that. Below is the kick mechanism on your bike. Please rate my answer. Thanks. tombones49_146.gif

How to take pin holding

There should be a allen key plug to take out of the caliper then once this is out there will be another allen key head behind the plug to undo (this is the pin) just undo, take out and the pads should be able to be removed.
Pay close attention to the direction pads come out and any spacers between the pads and brake piston as you want them all back in exactly the same with the new pads they stop the pads from rattling around when riding
good luck regards Jamie

On the side of my 86 kx 80 2 stroke there is a

The plug on the side engine casing is for 10w40 motor oil. NEVER use synthetic lubricants or oil with 'special' additives. They can mess up your clutch. The 10w40 motor oil is shared by the gearbox and the engine because they are a single unit.

Use 4 ounces of two stroke engine oil for every gallon of gas. That will give you a 32 to 1 mixture which is the industry standard. If the outboard motor is a 2 stroke (most of them are), the engine oil is the same. Note the difference > Engine oil verses Motor oil. Motor oil in the gearbox, Engine oil in the gas.

Kx250 rear shock is out of oil how do i add oil to

If the bike is real bouncy with no dampining you need to have shock rebuilt you cant just add oil to fix. Most rear mono shocks have a little bottle of nitrogen gas on side of shock. When shock seals go bad the oil and gas leaks out. Most times it is cheaper to find shop to rebuild shock then buying new one.Mono shocks can run anywhere from 250.00 to 500.00$.you can get rebuilt for about 100.00 to 150.00$ depending on parts needed.

Replacing the rear tire on

Yes , you should be fine since you will only be stretching up one size. Most tubes will fit a multiple of sizes. Just work carefully so you do not puncture the tube while installing it.

WHAT KIND OF SPARK PLUG DO I NEED FOR MY KX250

If you can remove the old one, just bring it to any bike shop and they should have it.There are probably at most 4 different kinds over the last 20 years. Also, one brand isn't any better than the other. There may be slight differences, but they are not worth $2-3 apiece,I don't care what the parts guy says. It's his job to make money. It's my job to give quality advice based on facts and research, whether I get paid or not.Gold or titanium tips or whatever they are trying to sell these days makes no difference.A good metal to metal electrical contact is what matters.Gold is actually one of the softest metals too and I sure don't use them. They are much more likely to scratch just from putting on and taking off the plug wire. Good luck and ride on!Greg
