sounds like it could be a bad battery...it may show enough volts but may not have the cranking AMPS to turn over the motor

It could be the switch for the kickstand. I am more familiar with Harleys, they have a switch on the clutch which is the same as the kickstand switch on other bikes

If you live in or near a big city take the whole drive (or just the bearing if you have it out) to a bearing supply store. I live in Minneapolis and have found a dozen different suppliers of unusual bearings not available from the manufacturers (the dealers). But the bearing supply places have them. They are real easy to flood . Try changing the spark plugs. It is fuel injected do not give it gas when cranking to start or it will flood.

Book says 10W40 or 20W50

I pulled up the two models of an 800 drifter and the tanks on both the e2 and the A8 are the same....they may be counting what you have in reserve to......but i don't know since i have the 1500

remove right side cover and it should be mounted to your coolant tank.

It's rather annoying but you have to push the lock in about 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch. Turn your steering all the way in whichever direction is easiest for you to get to the lock, then turn it back slightly. Then put the key in the lock and push it in like you are trying to insert the key farther. If it does not move easily you are not quite in the right spot.

I had the same problem on my K100. After someone shows you how once it is easy. Good luck.
