1998 Kawasaki KLX 300 won't start.

You cant check the compression on those bikes due to the compression release on the exhaust cam. 75psi is ok. 64 to 125 psi due to the fluctuation caused by the release mechanism. Please dont say things that aint true. People that need help may tear down a goid engine due to your bad advice.

Why does my atv runs fast idle all the time

Several possibilities, including, throttle not returning to idle position due to bent or damaged cable from throttle to carburettor. This cable may also need lubricating with light (thin) oil. Idle setting on carb may need reducing. Finding the trouble should not cost a lot if you require someone else to dignose. If you have a work book for your vehicle (recomended), just go through the troubleshooting section for that problem. It could be an easy fix yourself at no cost.

Fouling out new plug

over rich - if it does the same with no filter on try dropping the needle .if it's fine with no filter than try a free flowing one . float hight may be incorrect - double check where the float hight should be measured from. if carb has a diaphram in it make sure its correctly positioned it could be keeping the needle to high up. you could try a lower octane fuel.

I have a 300 kawaski

If it's the one I'm thinking of -it has a vacuum operated shutoff valve on the tank. So your leaky -read stuck- needle and seat only leak when the engine is turning over.

Pull the carb loose and roll over and remove the float bowl. drop the float pin and remove the float and needle. Find the vacuum line to the fuel valve and **** it open to flush out the needle and seat. When the fuel runs clean, put the needle and float back on and open the fuel valve again. If the upside down carbs holds back the fuel- it's fixed and you can put it back together.

Klf 300 starter motor runs

Sounds like the relay contacts are bent or welded closed or the solenoid is stuck. Check the solenoid first by removing the small wire from it and seeing if the starter stops turning. If it does not stop, the contacts in the solenoid are stuck closed.

2006 kawasakin bayou 4 wheeler won't idle

If the bike idles when you appy a little choke you may have a clogged carburator. The fuel that we get now is very unstable and gums up very quickly. I would suggest cleaning the carburator and flushing the fuel out of the fuel tank. the carb is very intricalte and should be serviced by a qualified technician.
I hope that this helps,
Steve

Hard to start have to hold hand over carby intake

You need to take your carburetor off the motorcycle . disassemble , and clean it. Be sure to inspect the intake manifold for cracks and separation this could be a source of your issues. Pay close attention to the the slow jet and the slow jet passageway through the body of the carburetor. If the carburetor body passageways and the jets are open/clear,and you have the mixture settings set correctly (stock). Your idle problem should be solved.
