Hi i have a ZRX1100

Did your bike set up over the winter or for a long period of time (overtwo or three weeks)? If so, the fuel/ethanol mix has gummed, partially closing off jets and passageways. Rather than go to the expense of tearing the carb/injector down, purchase a can of SeaFoam and pour half the can in your fuel tank. Ride the way you normally ride, and if that was the problem, you will notice a difference within thirty minutes to and hour of riding. Might check your aircleaner for cleanliness, also.

Hi there pete moss here

Pete...
most newer bikes have safety interlocks....I'm more familiar with Yamaha than Kawasaki...but here goes...

First since the bike won't crank normally and has no igntion sounds like an interlock issue.
Ensure the engine kill switch is in the RUN position...rock it off and on to verify.

Is your neutral light operational....even if the bike is in neutral...if the neutral indication circuit doesn't detect it, you cannot crank starter with sidestand down. Try restart with sidestand up...and clutch lever pulled in.

I located my oil cooler above the original height

To my knowledge you should be fine. The oil should be coming out of the engine and then into the cooler before returning back to the reservoir. In this configuration the air bubble will be in the hoses leading away from the engine and be filled by oil exiting the engine. Plus, every oil cooled bike I have owned has had the cooler mounted right below the headlight placing it well above the oil pump and at the top of the engine.
My only concern with relocating the oil cooler would be that the oil draining down out of the hoses could temporarily overfill the reservoir at startup. Depending on how long the hoses are they may hold a substantial amount of oil. If you fill the reservoir with the appropriate amount of oil so it is not starved when running (and you should) draining a lengthy hose into this might be too much.
The concern with this is having higher oil pressure when the engine is first started and the oil is cold. The temporary increase in oil pressure should not affect the engine at all with the only negative affect being a shortened life on the oil pump.
To test this, closely monitor the oil level and pressure and then start the engine. Let it run for a short time and then shut it off. Let the engine sit for a day or so (longer if possible) and measure the oil level again. If there is no change, your oil isn't draining. If it is draining, keep a close eye on your oil pressure at startup and see if it is spiking a little. If it does, try a slightly lighter weight oil and it should remedy your problem. If it doesn't, you may need to shorten the oil lines to reduce the draining.

Excesive travel on front brake lever

for hydraulic brake systems, there is a little rubber seal on the plunger attached to the lever. This is part of the lever/reservior assembly. An older bike like this may be fixed cheaply by changing it. If your reservior level is low, then it could simply be needing fluid. first try bleeding the brake lines of air. If that does not do it, then check bikebandit.com for the plunger.

I have a 2002 Kawasaki Mean Streak 1500 I'm customizing it can the rectifier be moved so it's not just hanging there.

Absolutely, the rectifier on your Kawasaki Mean Streak 1500 can be repositioned during a customization project. The rectifier is a crucial part of the motorcycle's electrical system, converting alternating current (AC) from the stator into direct current (DC) to charge the battery and power the bike's electrical components. While relocating the rectifier, it's important to consider a few key factors:
  1. Space and Mounting: Assess the available space on the motorcycle to find a suitable location for the rectifier. Ensure that the new position allows for proper mounting and secure attachment without interfering with other components or the bike's functionality.
  2. Heat Dissipation: The rectifier generates heat during operation, so it's essential to relocate it to an area with adequate airflow for cooling. Mounting it in a well-ventilated area helps prevent overheating issues.
  3. Wiring and Connections: When moving the rectifier, ensure that the wiring can be appropriately rerouted to reach its new location. Take care to maintain proper electrical connections and ensure a secure, stable wiring setup.
  4. Protection: Consider adding protective measures, such as shields or guards, to safeguard the relocated rectifier from road debris, water, or other potential hazards.
Modifying the placement of the rectifier may require custom brackets, mounts, or fabrication work to secure it in the desired location. It's crucial to execute the relocation carefully, maintaining proper electrical connections and ensuring the rectifier's safety and functionality. If you're not confident in performing these modifications yourself, consulting a professional motorcycle mechanic or technician with experience in customizations can be highly beneficial. They can offer guidance, expertise, and ensure that the modifications are carried out safely and effectively.

Looking replacement batteries for kawasaki 21.6 volt batteries part # 691221

eBay is the only place and there is only one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/266382749570 Or direct from China https://power-tool-batteries.en.made-in-china.com/product/tqRnSCOglNhK/China-Kawasaki-Power-Tool-Batteries-21-6V-Replacement.html Or you can open it up and solder in the individual NiCad cells. Better to replace with NiMH. This is probably why they don't exist, RECALL on the charger. https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2007/alltrade-tools-recalls-power-tool-battery-chargers-due-to-burn-and-laceration-hazards ..
