On a 1986 kawasaki ninja

This may differ from model to model, as a rough guide with standard jetting, 2.5 to 3 turns out, screw the air corrector screw home (in) all the way until it stops using no force, as soon as you feel it is home stop, then unscrew the screw 5 half turns which equates to 2.5 full turns as a base setting, any furter addjustments should be done in half turn increments in or out untill the bike runs at its best

My research shows that the damper also fits ZX10R (2004-2005). I would use caution when crossing bike parts. The part numbers are the same with a suffix letter different. This indicates a variation in the part. So although it may bolt up and perform the same, there is some difference.
Ride Safe.

My speedometer seems to read

unfortunatey you may not be able to fix this, speedos generally run from a sensor or cable at the front axle, and rely on the rotating wheel, and are not generally able to be calibrated.
An instrument tech amy be able to do something if your model?? has an electronic speedo, but the reading can change with different tyre sizes, and even slightly as the tyre wears

there is only 1 vin on the bike, if your planning on registering it your gonna need it. The only other way would be to locate the frame number and have a kawi dealer cross reference for a vin, but being 6 years old, might not be able to. cant the owner just get it off his registration for you ? aslo, becarefull of receiving stolen property, sounds like an issue to me.

How much coolant does the

Even the bigger bikes only hold between two and four quarts. If you have one gallon of antifreeze you will have enough to do a complete change. If you buy concentrated antifreeze only use distilled water to dilute it. Tap water will add unwanted minerals that could cause deposits in the motor and radiator. Most motorcycle water pumps use a ceramic washer so they only recommend you use a NON-SILICA formula anti-freeze (any motorcycle manufacturers antifreeze, Gm Dexcool, etc.). 50/50 mix should be right for all riding conditions. If you have enough coolant for the engine but not the over flow bottle reuse some of the old anti freeze in the over flow bottle.

Headlights on 2004 Kawasaki zx6r will not come on.

If the tail light comes on , then it may be the headlight bulb,so try with high and low beam
if the tail light bulb doesnt come on, then it can be a fuse, relay, switch block, ignition switch, broken wire, bad corrector and the list continues, so it is out with the multi meter and test light and some electrical knowledge to track it down.

YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE SEAT, TANK AND AIR BOX, THE PLUGS ARE LOCATED IN THE CYLINDER HEAD THE PLUG CAPS COMPLETELY COVER THE HOLE IN THE HEAD THE PLUG SITS IN, (TIP) DO 1 PLUG AT A TIME MAKING SURE YOU REPLACE THE CAP BEFORE YOU DO THE NEXT 1, THIS WAY YOU WONT MIX UP THE LEADS, REMEMBER THE PLUGS SIT IN A DEEP HOLE AND ARE QUITE EASILY CROSS THREADED, REFIT USING CORRECT SPANNER BY HAND, TO START WITH WHEN YOU ARE SURE THE PLUG IS IN CORRECT THEN FINNISH OFF TO THE CORRECT TIGHTNESS WITH A WRENCH

I popped my seat off

you have probably sorted this out by now, anyway its easy to say replace in reverse order, so i wont,
you dont say what bike it is fitted to, i would first sugest you have a look at the undeside of the seat, you want to observe at the front of the seat, you will find a forward facing lug of plastic, (if your seat is plastic) around the tank area," on the frame you should see a cross member that the tank itself bolts to", the plastic lug should fit under this first, holding up the rear of the seat slightly, slide the lug under the crossmember untill it is forward as far as it will go then lower the rear of the seat into place you should hear a clicking noise as the seat locks into place WARNING MAKE SURE THE BIKES KEYS ARE IN THE IGNITION AND NOT UNDER THE SEAT AT THIS POINT. Seats do varey and some have more than 1 front fixing, some are made from steel, some hinge, and some bolt instead of locking, some have obscured bolts behind panels, and so on, ask yourself how easy did it come off. if you are still having problems with this seat contact me with make and model and i will do my best to help, good luck and happy motoring, paul

Wont start left out in

Check the main fuse, it may have blown
Check that on/off switch hasn't shorted out, when you hit the start button you should be sending power to your solenoid which sends power to the starter motor.

If your stator/ rotor cover seal is bad, water may have got on the stator and corroded.
If it filled with water then its shorted out.
Start at the battery with a test light and work your way through your wires to see where you loose power.
For example: If you dont have spark, unplug your coil and see if you have power to the coil, if you do have power to the coil then the coil is bad.
If you dont have power to the coil, then the coil is probably good once you get power restored to it.
Trace the wire back to see where it looses power, it could be in the ignition switch.
