I had replace my cluch on my bike but it dont work

Considering the age of the bike, it is probably time for new friction plates in the clutch. Go to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. You will select the actual brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. You can order parts from this site. In the event no price is shown on a particular part and/or the notation "Not Available" is in the description, the part is not in stock. www.babbittsonline.com/pages/parts/viewbybrandand/parts.aspx

RUNNING PROBLEM, ZZR600

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, remove the sparkplugs, note and postback the colors of the tip.

Almost always, idling problem is a carb issue (air/fuel mix & amount), On the otherhand, refusing to accelerate past a certain speed (or more particularly, a certain RPM while under load) indicates an air leak. Test drive the bike again and note where it starts to fail to accelerate, consistently on 35MPH or a particular RPM.

Please postback results of above checks.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

88 ninja 600r losing power to coil and tach

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, check:
  • black wire from the ignition coil that goes to the CDI;
  • check the terminal/pin of the black wire at the connector before the CDI;
  • check the 4 wires from the pickup coil, their connectors and their connections to the CDI.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Carb needs cleaning

You actually have 4 carburetors on that bike. Remove the bodywork, the seat, and I think the fuel tank has to come off, then you should see the four carbs. Best bet, take it to a dealer and have them do a tune up, they will clean and adjust the carbs as part of the service.

Cost of carb cleaning 2001 ninja

Only the dealer knows for sure. It will be several hundred dollars because after cleaning, the carbs will need to be balanced and synchronized as well. Ask a couple of dealers what they would charge.

I have a 95 kawasaki ninja zx6e and my headlight

if you're getting intermittent operation, then you have a loose wire. first, check that all your connectors are properly seated. then check the wires going into the connectors by moving them while the light is on. if the problem hasn't surfaced yet, then your going to have to check continuity of your light wires from the battery to the bulb. this is more easily done if you buy a Clymers Manual for your Kaw. Good luck.

No spark

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

To my understanding, the problem is 'no spark' yet the engine cranks. Generally, to consider are:
  • pulser coil (least likely);
  • ignition coil (likely);
  • interlocks (likely);
  • CDI (most likely).

Offhand, the CDI would be the main suspect. Since the CDI is sealed, it is not possible to do component level checks. The only way to check if the CDI is good is to check the external connections; if they are good and yet no spark, then the CDI is bad.

How to check the above:
  • to check the pulser coil, measure the low voltage coming from it using an analog/needle type AC voltmeter. While cranking, it should show a flickering low voltage;
  • to check the ignition coil, use a continuity tester. Primary should measure 3 ~ 5 ohms while primary to the high voltage end would measure 15 ~ 18 kilo ohms;
  • the ignition coil has 1 terminal connected to the IGN +12 while the other terminal is connected to the CDI. This should have a pulsating voltage when cranking.
  • all the interlocks could be checked with a continuity tester. Please note that most interlocks has a diode connected in series with their wires.
The interlocks include:
  • clutch switch;
  • side stand switch;
  • neutral light switch.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

AT 6000 TO 7000 RPM BIKE DONT PULL

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, I would suspect an airleak on the airfilter box, most likely the seal between the air filter bottom housing to the mouth of the carb. Might as well check for a vacuum leak on the rubber coupling from the carb to the intake manifolds. Pls check for craks on the coupling wall. It would also be worth your time to check the mating of the rubber coupling to the carb as well as the clamps.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.
