I've had a weak battery
Did you check to see if it burned out? Before you pull it out ... check the fuse. Changing the battery had little to no impact on your head light burning out ...
Thanks for your interest in FixYa.com
Zx6r erratic throttle
Just check on your air ducts. When the bike is staionery it will idle rev and even run well on the dyno, but on the open road the airducts must be in and instadled or mounted correctly
Its a 99 ninja not a 97. cant find where to edit
dont think you can edit the heading, just list your problem, and identify your bike and year, under a similar model.
write as much as you know about the problem including what you have already tried, is the bike regularly serviced, by yourself or a bike shop, how long the problem has been happening, how long you have had the bike etc
KAWASAKI ZX-6R (ZX600) NINJA CAM & CRANK TIMING SETUP
KAWASAKI ZX-6R (ZX600) NINJA CAM & CRANK TIMING SETUP 1995 - 1998
Turn
the engine over by using a 17mm socket or spanner on the crank until
the no.1 inlet valve goes down & then comes back up; continue
turning until the T mark for cylinders 1:4 lines up with the rear mating
surface of the 2 crankcases, number 1 cylinder is now at top dead
center on the compression stroke.
The cams are marked 117 IN &
117 EX so they don't get mixed up, align the IN & EX marks on each
sprocket with the the cylinder head surface so that the IN marks face to
the rear & the EX marks face to the front.
Next check the no of
roller pins in the cam-chain between the inlet cams IN mark & the
Exhaust cams EX marks, make sure that all the slack is taken up on the
rear run & that there is none at the front or between the camshafts:
There must be 30 pins in between the 2 marks (including the ones next
to each mark)
If everything is still the same when you have the
camshafts bolted down you are OK
Ride safe

I got a 1998 500 ninja and it wont start it just
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Initially, ensure that the battery is fully charged or better yet have it load tested.
Offhand, locate the starter relay by following the cable from the battery's + terminal. It would end in 1 of 2 terminals in the starter relay. Jump the 2 big terminals; expect a big spark. If the starter spins, then the starter relay is faulty.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
Will not stay running
Wow, quite a long time in storage. Anyway when you store it so long you need to clean and replace everything, YES, everything thatr can be affected by moisture, dust and condensation.
Main concern must be for all fuel and combustion systems flows including re-newing all oils before using the bike again. Have you cleaned the carb and fuel lines? Change the air and fuel filter?
Oil in my air filter box
This is just blow by from the crankcase breather system..the trapped oil in the box should be drawn back into the fuel air mixture to be reburned..its a smog pollution control design thingy..there is probably a hose attached to the bottom section of the air box...follow that hose to make sure that it didn't fall off from the top of the valve cover area..i think thats were it hooks up..at least thats where it is on my 87 cbr...i occasionally see a little oil in the box but nothing to worry about. if the hose is off its probably leaking down onto the exhuast pipes and thats the smoke you see. please let me know im curious.
thanks
Oil may be low
there should be a glass check on right hand side of case you will see the gears make sure bike is level might take two people it should read in center alittle water is fine
Can not start, hear clicking sound in the fusebox
Make sure you have the proper water acid level in each cell of the battery. Then, connect your battery to a trickle charger, which is a charger that puts out 1 - 3 AMPS continuous. Leave it connected for 48 hours. Disconnect the charger and allow the battery to stabilize for about one hour. Then check your battery voltage. If it is 12VDC try and start the motor. If it is below 10.8VDC, replace the battery. Most motorcycle batteries don't have a very long shelf life, and your battery is probably no good for sitting for more than three years.
My 1999 600 wont start smells rich it wants to
rewaork the carb clean it out and the jets as far as the jamming situation wow if it start i gear that simply means it struck in gear or jam un jam it by checking first the cable if not there then next the gear box
