Hi i have a kawasaki
Yes put WD40 inside to break up rust or dirt built-up inside the barrel. Wait for some time then slowly turn it back and forth till it become loose.
How to start from cold
Full choke, no throttle and if it is properly tuned it will fire up nice. After 1-2 minutes start closing back the choke in and a couple of throttle openings will help to close it all the way in.
I rode the bike with
I will assume bike is a 2 stroke and say you seized the piston in the bore. when cooled it may still turn over but the damage has been done internally. It will probably require a rebore and oversize piston.
My 1995 kawasaki ZZR 600
valve area has issues--mite be worn or needs ajust--top end needs to be done 15yr old--purchase a clymer manual today or library has similar *** books
I run my fuel rich
run a few more tanks full of fuel through it and it may clear as the foam does its job.
Octane boost doesnt make for rich fuel, just higher octane.
To make the bike rich you need to adjust mixture screws or change jets, but making it rich will make it go slower, a bit like riding withthe choke on
Make sure all the other service items are done, plugs, aircleaner, oil, valve clearances
I have taken alarm off
Alarms are often wired through the rectifier, if that is the case you have removed the batteries ability to receive a correct charge.
Get yourself a wiring diagram and trace the wires.
I dont know exactly what
The forks usually bend well before the frame.
Take the forks off the bike and turn the chrome part in the fork leg and you will soon see if they are bent.
If they are only slightly bent a dial gauge will help.
Dont even think about having them straightened, get new ones
Has loud tickin noise from
Most motorcycles need to have the valve clearance adjusted every so often. When the tolerance get to loose it will "tick" more loudly.
Have a 1986 kawasaki ninja 600 i had the carbs
not sure what the firing order is, but check to see if you have a spark at the plugs, and if you do then its probably a fuel delivery problem, then check the petcock and fuel tank vent... assuming the carbs were done correctly.
My bike doesn't want to
See if the motor turns freely by hand to make sure it isn't seized or otherwise jammed. It could be that 1st gear is too low to get the motor turning while you try to push start; you coulsd try 2nd gear. If the motor isn't jammed up, check the electrical connections from the battery and pay special attention to the ground. If the battery is good and the connections all prove to be good, you either have a bad starting relay or bad starter motor.

Try jumping out the kick stand safety and see if it cures your problem. I had a similar problem but it occurred upon acceleration and seemed to happen at the worst times while passing. It drove me nuts to find the problem and it turned out to be the kick stand safety switch. I permenently disabled that SOB and never had the problem again.
How can I fix my
Some bikes are mad to only start in neutral. It is perceived to be a safety feature. You didn't say what year and model your bike is. Generally speaking, install new spark plug(s), clean the air cleaner, do an oil change, ( with new filter if your bike has a filter ), remove and clean the interior of the carb(s), balance and sync the carbs if two or more, check the compression on each cylinder, ( should be minimum of 120psi and within a 10% range on all cylinders. Check to be sure the battery is in good condition ( if your bike has a battery ). Please rate my answer.
Oil look milky
Start bike from cold with radiator cap off - look for constant flow of air bubbles Or, if you more mechanically minded then the best test is a leak down test but milky oil nearly always means head gasket needs to be replaced
Without seeing it is hard to diagnose but only other thing could be old clutch plates - these too can color the oil when old or worn out. Puts a silvery tinge or turns the oil completely grey to look at if really bad
good luck - regards Jamie
I need the torque spec
Normally, place new spark plugs in the head and tighten loosely. Tighten a further 1/4 turn.
I need paint codes to
When I have re-painted my bike.. Ive taken in a part to the painter, or local shop. they scan the color and the paint code comes right up. works great, especially because over time the paint is not the same color anymore from the factory, and ...well... i like my bike in 1 color.
otherwise the other easiest way is to call the kawi dealer shop. give them ur bike model, year and they can also give u the factory codes. good luck......PK
