How do i derestrict a 2007 honda fmx 650?

Hi, I have just got an fmx and it has tail pipes with removable baffles so remove them. my previous owner of the fmx also removed the air box ( butchered it out ) and also half of the carb inlet rubber pipe and fitted a steel gauge mesh over the carb inlet as some kind of air filter, to replace air box filter, its crude but it revs like a race car now but the air box supports the battery box as it bolts together through the frame and also supports the plastics so they had to be bolted together it the middle. please be aware that I have not had time to test ride this monster revving machine yet as had new knee in 2 weeks ago, but if sound has anything to do with it then it'll do for me, suppose my main gripe is the battery box is held on with cable ties now, another job he's given me but sounds better than my honda slr 650. ( so far )..... anyway on your standard exhaust tail pipe you can cut into the end of the can and take baffles out and fit removable s/ steel ones, and add wire wool wrapping to the baffle when having mot, then remove after but don't rivet it in, use self tappers.... Car b jetts can be swapped but will see how it rides next week after mot.... Paul thumper lover, lol ,

Adjust Motorcycle Clutch Cable

Usually there are 2 adjustment points. One at the clutch lever, and one on the clutch pull on the crankcase. Follow the cable from the handlebars to the engine, there should be an adjust bolt or two. The adjustment at the handlebar lever is usually a screw with a thumbwheel lock nut. Depending on what you are trying to adjust, dictates which one you will use and in what direction it will go. If the clutch is slipping, use the thumbwheel adjuster. Loosen it, back the screw out 2-3 turns, tighten. and check you clutch. if this one is all the way out, go to the crankcase, loosen the bolt on the richt side of the bracket first, then loosen the left one, one turn at a time, checing the clutch. once it's where you want it. tighten the right bolt only. You can do this with a set of open end or box wrenches. An adjustable wrench works in a pinch.

Honda FMX 650 - quantity of hydraulic oil

The best way,is to drain a fork leg into a container, and measure the amount. however if you cant do that, start of with about 100ml in each leg, test them out, if to soft, you can always add a little more oil. from memory, a 250ml bottle of fork oil was enough to do both legs on most bikes.

Loose the adjusting screw near the lever and line up the gap that it has with it's bolt.Unhook the cable. Now it is loose and you can unhook it from the lower bracket. It may have a small safety pin you have to bend to unhook the cable.Remember to bend it back after installing the new cable. After hooking the cable to the lever adjust it with it's screw and make sure that it has a 2-3mm freeplay on the lever.
