2004 Honda VTX 1800C. I just changed the slave cylinder seals now I can ride anywhere with no problems or slip or anything. But after I stop and turn the bike off, the clutch point is last minute.

Question edited for clarity, full year maker model. Question moved to model category. Not sure what you mean by "clutch point is last minute", but after driving it a bit, bleed the lines again and adjust the clutch. https://www.google.com/search?q=2004+Honda+VTX+1800C+adjust+clutch ..

I was oil changing my VTX1800 and when i was puting in the new oil witch shoud be 4 quarts of 10w40 but out of the 4 quarts i acsidentally put in one quart of 20w50, Is it bad to run it like this ?

The 1 quart will increase the viscosity of the oil marginally which means it will be a little bit thicker and not as fast flowing throughout the engine. The overall effect will be minimal. What is bad is to overfill the crankcase,so please ensure that adding the 4 quarts has not overfilled it as there is often old oil left that doesn't drain completely.

Honda vtx 1800

Did you check the battery, and clean the terminals? If the battery is down, the lights will work but it won't have enough power to turn the starter. I hope this helps.

Just started. Bike runs fine until I shift into 1st, then it shuts off (Clutch is pulled in of course). Is ther a clutch switch that causes this?

You didn't say WHICH VTX 1800 you had (there's about 10), C, N1, N2, N3, R1, R2, R3, S1, S2, or S3, or I'm going with the C. This year/model DOES have a clutch switch that the clutch lever operates off of. It also has a side stand switch. The problem could be this, also.

Ideal is to high will not adjust down

High idle can be caused by an intake leak. Spray some WD-40 around the intake manifold boots while idling. If idle changes from the WD-40 then you found your problem.

2002 VTX 1800 backfires recelerating

If the bike is fuel injected, the module should fix it. If the bike is carbureted, you don't need the module but you will need to re-jet the carb to enrich the mix.

How do u adjust the idle on a fuel injected vtx

should be an adjuster between the cylinders. Looks like a threaded knob. Sometimes you have to pull it out a little first.

I have 2004 honda vtx

i had same with my vtx 1800 i adjusted the idle , if you look to the left of engine between the pots there is a little plastic wheel on the end of a cable which goes to the throttle body, i think it is anti clockwise to increase. try this it worked ok for me however there is a cold start on these and it is operated by coolant temperature check your coolant level and top up if neccessary with the correct coolant as specified (not got info at hand)

Enging running rough changed sprk plugs still

You may have a bad spark plug wire or a faulty ignition coil. Use an oli car spark plug wire to run a test case to see if this resolves the problem. If only on one cylinder, trace the wire back to the coil and have it tested or replaced. Good luck

I am not sure it is a fuel pump problem but assume

I would check the electrical feed to the pump. A messy dangerous business to work on as it will pump fuel everywhere if you are not carefull
Hope it isn't the pump!!

Honda vtx 1800 r.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Looks like the ignition coil is worn out. It starts good on cold for the ignition coil is not forced yet and when the engine is warm it fails to start for the coil is hot. I believe that once the ignition coil is replaced you'll be good.

Hope this helps and thank you for using Fixya! Have a good one!

Radiator sounds like its bubbling how can I put

Locate the radiator cap under the left side of the tank , or under the left side cover, and add 50/50 non-silica formula antifreeze there. Then top off the overflow bottle down by your left foot to the high mark. The fill cap for the over flow bottle should close to the radiator cap(within a foot).

Starter wont turn

Push the starter button , if the solenoid clicks the button is good. If not check the button for continuity. Follow the positive battery cable to the solenoid. Jump the solenoid posts, if the starter works , you need a new solenoid. If you hold the starter button and tap on the starter with a plastic hammer, and the starter works, you need starter brushes. If you open the starter and the armature is shorted or the coils are grounded or burnt, replace the starter assembly.
