2004 Honda Shadow Sabre VT1100C2.

Question edited for clarity. Question moved from Honda Cars. In the link you will find wiring diagrams and links to the Honda Shadow forums. Relays either work or they don't and seldom blow fuses. Something is shorting to earth, and wires rubbing on the frame or another item is usually the cause. This is the wiring diagram for the earlier model and only shows two relays for flasher and starter. Not even one on the headlight. https://www.hondashadow.net/threads/wiring-diagram-shadow-spirit-vt1100c.565210/#lg=thread-565210&slide=0 ..

How to find an auto part called a stator?

The stator is the stationary part of a rotary system, found in electric generators, electric motors, sirens, or biological rotors. You can call any motorcycle parts store and they will be able to help you out.

Apnormal noise comes out of the engine

Usually a bit clogged oil passage for hydraulic valve tappets, use some cleaner which you add in old oil and run the engine for some time, then change the oil. If your bike have more then 40-50 k, then the cam chains can be worn, you can check them if you remove the top of cylinder and look on the right side of cam sprocket, on the top of chain tensioner is a metal cube and if it is out for 9 or more mm, chain is bad.

What type of oil is the best for a saber with 17000 on it?

This is one of those "no right answer" sort of things... Right now, my 2001 Honda has roughly 70k miles on it. I can't remember the exact mileage because I had to park her through the winter and stare longingly through the window... First winter I've ever parked a bike. I had planned on painting her but never did. Anyway... I always put the oil recommended in my Honda manual and never have the first bit of trouble out of it. My bf however, he's put synthetic oil in his 2008 Honda since after the necessary break in service. He swears by it. I would say use the recommended oil. It's recommended for a reason.

Which spark plugs should I use for my 2000 750 shadow

For any motorcycle always use NGK plugs. I have preferred regular NGK for 2 strokes, and iridium for the four strokes.

Starting problems

I've heard varying degrees of discussion on this. I've heard NEVER try to start a bike with a running vehicle and I've also talked to people who did it with success. I would have said that it was the starter switch. Hondas in my experience, are notorious for the switch going out. Sometimes it's as simple as spraying some contact cleaner in there and other times the little spring on the inside under the plastic sliders gives out. At this point I would probably replace the switch and put a battery in it. If nothing works after you've done that you may need to bite the bullet and take her to the shop or test all of the wires with it on and see where the problem is. Good luck. The weather is getting too nice to be grounded.

VTX1100 Headlights went out after starting

Sounds like a wire is bent or broken. If you've had trouble starting it in the past you could have over heated the connection behind the headlight. Test the wires and try to find where the continuity ends. It may be an easy fix but then again...

2004 shadow 1100 just quit running

Check your timing. If the timing is off or jumps around you may have a broken stator plate or just loose cd pick up. Check your timing per the maintenace manual. If it is off try to adjust but if it is jumping around you will have to pull the flywheel and check the stator and CD trigger for security.

If you have a failed alternator it wouldn't cause the engine to fail when starting. When you say the battery is good I have to assume that you have checked it on charge and not when it is just sat in the bike. The only way to be certain of the battery condition is to carry out a capacitance test. Your battery is the most likely failed component.

Why does it pop out of the exhaust when you let off gas

this sounds like a timing issue, if your timing is out, as you let off the gas the wheels push the engine round as it slows if the timing is out, the exhaust valve may be slightly open as the gas is ignited thus causing the compression explosion to rush down the exhaust causing a POP.either this or our mix is too rich and fuel is not all being burned and accumulating in the exhaust, when you are under power the draught of the engine stops the fuel getting ignited but when you throttle down, the draught reduces and the heat of the exhaust metal ignights the accumualted fuel in it.check your spark plugs and see if they are sooty black, if so your fuel is too rich.I hope this was helpful.
