yeah the only way to fix that problem correcly is to replace the whole ignition. i'm pretty sure they need to be drilled out and new one installed with tamper proff bolts complete with new key. i recomend motorcycle shop for repair

No, But that shaft sounds like the transmission input shaft and the means a trans tear down. You must have been laying some major torque on that puppy. Well, could have been a flaw too. You can tell by looking at the break. Anyway, hump it to the transman.

1ST of all i think you should take your bike to another dealer to get it fixed as they should be able / confident mechanics to repair any problem.
But anyway have you checked the throttle position sensor ? of the fuel injector connections ?
just that water could of coroded the connectors.

You must stabilize the bike from underneath the engine very good and use some belts to tight it down securely so it won't tip over.Make sure the rear wheel is not contacting the ground.Then take off the rear shock absorber.Numbers 9 and 7 must take out only. Here you can see all the parts in detail.The axle #9 is the main swingarm axle which you take off last and you put on first.The rest I think it is easy.

could be earthing out at the kill switch as hondas will still turn over when the switch is off

Hi Ken,
There is much to adjust and many things to maintain on a motorcycle. Plugs, oil filters, fork oil, engine oil, air filters, valve lash,chain, brakes, cables...the width of your wallet :) It is the best fun ever though!!

Change the ignition switch,,,simples

do u have injector pulse?, that is to say you have fuel pressure but are the injectors actualy being told to pulse and deliver fuel? have you run a quick test of the electronic engine control to see what shows up? that is very important on this system as it is fuel injected.
