How oil type for honda
This bike should have 10 w 40 Motorcycle oil that is Jaso MA rated. This oil is compatible with the wet style clutch. I have used the Valvoline for many years and is the best oil that I can find.
Steve
Hi my bike was on
The bike must be in neutral when the kickstand is down or it will shut down. Its a safety feature.
Put the bike in neutral and it should fire right up.
If you can't get it out of gear, sit on the bike, put the kickstand up, pull the clutch in turn the key on and hit the start button, and it should fire right up.Make sure on/off button is on too.
If you tried that and it still clicks, check battery voltage, a low battery makes the solenoid click.
Make sure you have a clean battery terminals and tight terminals.
Check battery voltage. Most auto parts places will load test them for free.
If battery is good and it is in neutral and it still clicks, then the starter solenoid is bad.
replace the solenoid. And your bike should fire right up
I just bought a used 2002 honda 954 rr with 9300
Ha ha... same thing happend to me... Fill ur tank and run about a half a bottle of Sea Foam in your gas tank. However if this doesnt clear it up it can be ur fuel filter, air filter, or possible jet bowls. Try the sea foam first then air and fuel filter(do these at the same time less time consuming to do together and if you just bought it you need to do it anyway). At last if this does not fix ur problem bring it to a shop because there are a lot of small peices to the injectors and i wouldnt recommend trying to fight that monster with no knowledge of the engine.
High Idle RPM
Hello there:
there should be a small vacuum line in between the carburetor check there this may be causing the vacuum leak hope this helps you out sincerely D.Jones
High Idle speed 3-4000 rpm.
I
Have you tried turning the idle right down and then starting it?
Have you adjusted the idle adjustment screws around the TB?
You could force the idle down by rolling off the throttle at idle (forcing the throttle more closed than it naturally sits). The manual says not to **** with any of the screws on the throttle bodies .IT will mess up the idle.
Also check the IAC Valve. It may be malfunctioning. This is a small valve, which allows a certain amount of air (controlled by the ECU) to bypass the throttle plates, which is probably why the manual states not to adjust the throttle stop screws (because the ECU can adjust the IAC Valve position to supply however much air is required for proper idle).
The other things to be checked for High Idle is :--
Other things very quickly off the top of my head:
- MAP Sensor?
- Check all your fuses (this only takes a few seconds and is a worthwhile check)
- vacuum lines?
- maybe a throttle body or intake manifold gasket? (if it is damaged then the engine could be pulling in more air than is registered by the MAP sensor. This could lead to a slightly higher idle and lean running. If it becomes excessive, the engine should stall).
Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution
and show your appreciation.
What can cause my honda 600 rr to lose power
Hi im having this problem too, its happening on my CBR 600 f2 1995, it usually happens when I give it some between the revs 6000 - 11000 it feels as though the engine cuts out then back on, it only happens for a split second, I have recently had a new regulator rectifier fitted along with a new battery could this be causing the problem, its only happened since then. Also its only happened since I last filled up with fuel, could it be a dodgy batch of fuel?
Hi my 954 runs
Sorry Chris, the chat froze on me. Could be kill switch, sidestand switch, or any electrical fault. You're going to have to get in there and check things out. It sounds like this is one the bike shop will have to get involved with.
Bike wont start
check that it is fully charged as some new batt arnt charged failing that check the starter fuse next to the battery should be a 30amp fuse
Ok i was ridin my cbr954rr one day and it cut off
Have you been "working" on your bike.....played with any wires....check your main fuse sounds like you had a hot hitting the frame somewhere and shorting out the whole system...............happened to me not to long ago I put a trickle charger end on the battery and it got caught some how on the frame....but anyway hope this helps
CAN'T TRUN THE MOTOR OVER BY HAND TO GHECK THE
If you have not done this already remove all the spark plugs this will free up the compression that will prevent you from turning the motor over. If you already did this and the motor won't turn over by hand the timing chain if it was replaced is probably installed incorrectly (mechanical timing is off) and the piston is hitting the open valve therebye not allowing rotation, recheck all mechanical timing marks. Do not force the rotation it will bend a valve. Since I am not sure if the timing chain was replaced I am guessing and just telling you this extra info as a precaution for you. P.S. it can be hard to turn over these motors by hand because you have to over come the valve spring tensions offered by the valves and there springs so be aware there will be some resistance but be very careful if you use a socket wrench or chain wrench to turn the flywheel center nut.
How do u ajust the
There is no manual adjustment of the timing on this bike that I know of. If the timing is off it most likely will require you to change the timing chain/belt due to wear. The timing is controlled by ECM module.
