The kickstand switch is either bad or bent out of position. See if you can activate the switch manually. Does the bike run now? If so, the switch is bent out of position. If it still won't run, jumper the wires together until you can replace the switch.

open the radiator cap, if you see coolant your good., if not fill er up.

B4 getting a bigger battery, check your regulator/rectifier at a dealer or bike garage/repair shop properly as it is not doing its job. Good

The start button energizes the starter 'solenoid'. It is usually located right on the starter motor. Can you get to the starter motor and check the connections on the solenoid and the starter motor. That's the very first thing you need to do.

worse thing is trying to diagnose something someone else got wrong. All you can do is go online and get clymer's repair book. A book can direct you into diagnosing a problem that happened on its own but no one knows what you may have done to mess it up. Your going to have to retrace your steps if it was working before.

Left side in front of the rear tire. Look for a little interesting looking black box just a bit under the battery.

Sounds like bad starter, or bad battery. If the battery is good, most likely bad connection at starter, or starter itself.

Could be a bad cell in the battery??

try charging first if it runs ok then the battery is bad or the charging system is bad.

Check for starter motor.
Check for starting switch (maybe rusty)
Check for the starting circuit (tighten the contacts... but not too tight)
Check for the fuse. Specially the main fuse. Starter fuse.

look for a main 30a fuse in the red wire from battery

Sounds like you are not getting enough gas. Check the fuel filter and change if plugged. Also, you might have gotten bad gas.
