You will need to go down in # jet sizes on both the pilot jet ( low end ) and the main jet ( top end ) since the air is thinner at higher altitude you will need create more air than fuel. For example if you had a 340 main jet you would go with a 320 or a 325. and the pilot jet would also go to a lower #.
I have a 1990 Honda
You need to drain your oil, then remove the right side-case. When the side case is removed you will notice the kick-starter return spring will have a little tab that bends toward the center cases. that tab needs to be inserted into its proper place.>>( its apperantly has slipped out of place.) This is pretty common so don't be to alarmed over it. You will notice it right away once the case is off. If your not sure how the tab fits in place--try looking at a parts fish or go to the dealer and have the parts guy pull it up on the computer screen. I do not recommend bump starting it while that spring is no secured in its proper place.

When you remove the carb, flip it upside down and remove the 4 screws that hold the float bowl on. Make sure you remove both jets (pilot - and main jet) clean the jets with air pressure or a small thin peice of wire to reem the jets, once you think you have cleaned them, hold them up to the light and make sure you can see through the holes and the holes look perfectly round. This will normally fix any motorcycle carb issue. Dont waste your money on cleaners that offer a spray and fix or a pour in the tank and fix solution. Those are simply not going to help you or your motor.

I am guessing its the large washer from under the clutch centre nut.
If you still have the bike i would suggest you strip the clutch back out and reassemble using a service manual, you dont want the clutch basket coming loose as you are driving along, could be messy.

There are several on ebay at the moment , ranging from £17 second hand £80 UK pounds new.
Be careful which you buy the XLR and the XR CDI's are not the same, you will need the numbers off your CDI to make sure you get the correct one .

The crank is a pressed assembly. A machine shop can do the job but it is best done at the Honda shop. The alignment of the crank halves is critical to how well the engine runs after the repair.
I have an xr250r 1996 but wen i kick start it
First , check your compression with a compression tester. It should be at least 100 pounds pressure just to run. Preferably 120,130,140,etc.. Some motorcycles have a decompression cable that works off the kick lever, others have a decompression lever you hand operate. I believe yours is hand operated . I think the actual lever in the valve cover on top of the motor is sticking or the decompression cable itself is hanging up and not allowing the exhaust valve to close properly.
My 250 XR is blowing oil out of the gear box
Hey, this happened to my ttr 225, i
took it to the dealer and they said its because the rings are gone, so
maybe your oil ring is gone i don`t know, but i had to replace my piston
and get all new rings.
The only other thing that I can think of,
would be a plugged oil filter or oil line, causing the crankcase
pressure to increase. Drain the oil then remove all of the external oil
lines and clean any filter screens in the lines. Replace the oil
filter also. Put fresh oil back in and see how it runs.
If the
problem persists take it to a dealer.

When i increase the throtle it cuts out
Your engine is starving for fuel. The air sound you are hearing is most likely being caused by a faultry intake gasket OR the carburetor's needle/jets are gummed up. Pull the carburetor and inspect it for varnish build-up...you may be able to clean the carb but my recommendation is to rebuild it.
I want to up grade my xr 200 1999 front forks ,
Think of any of the motocross bikes.You will fit the cr front ends but it is also best to change the brake master cyl. at the same time.Check the weight of the exchange bike to get it pretty close to yours.Spring sizes and weights will then give you an upgrade ride and you dont have to play around with them too much.Look in the 250 2 stroke range first.Plenty of them around and the weight is similar.Hope this helps you
Starter problem
The bendix on the starter is not retracting so I am thinking that the return spring went bad. Remove the starter and bench test it and see if it returns. If it does not than you will have to have it rebuilt or get a new one.
Oil leak
With a ten year old 250 cc engine that has been ridden a lot you should be prepared to rebuild the motor. If you have to have someone else do it the bike is probably not worth the cost. If you can do it yourself the parts can be bought for less than $400 and installed in a day.
Engine stopped, now won't run.
there is alot of questions i need to know. does the engine turn over.are you getting spark, did it just stop when you were riding,did you let it sit for a long period of time.
