Honda steed 400

The Steed is a very unique shape IMO. I don't know about the VLX 600, but to be sure you will want to take quite a few mesurements of both tanks. Even if it doesn't fit exactly, it probably can be "made" to fit if you are creative.

What viscosity and how much Fork oil

If you are rebuilding your Forks, I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND replacing the fluid with Synthetic (last Longer) and is cleaner for the internal Valves... Viscosity will fine tune your suspension. you need to take into consideration your location, your riding weight and riding habits... The lower the number the more action, the Higher the number, the slower the response and harder ride but when you take into consideration Weight and Normal Ambient Temperatures... You need to dial in your own number...

Why it takes along time to start

When you say it takes a long time to start it could either be your switch, fuel delivery, or battery. You'll want to listen to your bike. Is the starter cutting in and out? Or are you just hearing the starter and the bike's not picking it up? If cutting in and out test your wires and make sure power is going to and coming from the switch. Watch your headlight. If it's cutting in and out while you are trying to start it that's a good indication that you may have problems in the switch. If the starter is good then you'll want to test your battery and see what's going on with that. You can put a tender on it and let it sit for a day and night and then try it again. Trying to start a bike that has difficulties will definitely drain your battery. Run Seafoam through it (follow directions), check the petcock and filter. Lastly, don't over heat your switch by trying to start it. I know when you're ready to ride, you're just plain ready to ride, but it's very easy to get the connection to the headlight to melt by the constant on and off of the light during the starting process. And of course you can eventually kill the battery. If none of this works, take it to the shop.

Honda steed 400 no spark at the plugs

Possible failure of the IGNTION SYSTEM. Check the voltage on the negative side of the HT coil and if there is no pulsating voltage then the electronic ignition has failed. It can be due to no signal from the transducer or a failed unit. test using a multimeter to confirm. remove plugs and test for a good intensity spark before fitting back .
