Why do you want to do it, but if you do, To change it, Engine off, top cylinders off (slowly - when going up with cylinder top, look for 3 tappets and shims), side covers L/R off, chain tensioner out, metal sleeve at spark plug unscrew, (this is main part - you can see the details, just go step by step . You can also check, if chain is bad, if you take off upper side cover on the top of cylinder (it is a small cover on each cylinder, on the side, if you up it 5cm, on the right side you see the top of tensioner, and a metal indicator, if this one is 10 mm out, chain is bad, if less, your fine. (in this case Engine is on frame, just take of the Tank)

The best for mine VT 1100 - Motul 5100, the bike does use some of it, but, the gear shifting much smoother-easier, this oil have a cleaner in, so somehow prevent the thin oil passages in the cylinder head not to be clogged.

You have a Bad Starter, usually starter brushes. Easy to fix, take off the starter (2 screws + 1 screw of a +wire), take it out, unscrew 3 bolts, gently take it apart, you have 2 or 4 brushes, check also rotor strips, if they are damage.

Between Cylinders on left engine side at left carb is a black button, turn it in or out to find 1000 rpm at idle.

Uf, first check connector for three wires coming from top left side engine cover. Connector can get bad and no electric is passing through. Start the bike and measure between + and - on battery. If you have over 13,5V/DC your fine. If you have a jumping DC (from 16- 19V/Dc) rectifier is bad, Stop engine, Disconnect the three stator wires connector and Measure between the three yellow wires on Ohms if they are connected, if yes, Stator is o.k. Usually Stator is last one to go bad.

Check the fuel pump operation and fuses.

Check if clutch plates are sticky, and check the clutch slave cylinder operation. If plates are sticky, put them in engine oil over night.

1994 - 2 and 3/4 out, you can go max to 3,5 in case of lean engine. More turns out is more fuel. More important is correct carb sync, this will give engine max power and longer life.

Very hard to change, it is at the bottom of the crankcase. Take of right side engine cover, you see chain, the small sprocket is for oil pump to turn. If you want to take off the pump, The clutch must go out, chain and pump sprocket and then, if you are brave, disassemble the pump inside (pipes and filter and take them out separately, pump body with effort last. Why to change it, usually they are not a problem. PS: the bottom sprocket is from oil pump

Manual says - VT 1100 88-96 main Jet both nr.165, slow Jet 42 For VT C2 and 1100T main front 175, rear 180 , slow 42 For 97 main both 178 , slow 42 You can read Nr. on Jets, they are small

It is the hydraulic system (master cylinder with 2 small holes, they must be clean and passing the oil, then the rubber pipe must pass the oil and slave cylinder must breathe when you squeeze the clutch lever - just an screw 3 slave cyl. bolts, take it little bit out, so you can see if it is breathing when squeeze the lever). If this works fine, then the problem is on the right side of the engine where the clutch is.
