These engines use hydraulic tappets (and are good engines), so I would check your oil level is spot on (the engine oil operates the tappets). It may also be the tensioner is sticking.
Also, pull the clutch in, does the noise go away?

it could be , find a long screw driver or something like and use it as a stethoscope and with the motor running move it around the engine and listen for the noise location, cam chain , valve lash,clutch etc.
Shakes in the front when I back off
Tighten the front wheel axle nut and the clamp nuts and bolts. Also check the headstock nuts and bolts for tightness. Make sure the front and rear wheel spokes are firm. Check the rear wheel axle and swing arm for looseness. Check the chain adjustment and make sure it is properly lubricated. Check both tires for condition and correct pressure. Has the bike had a front end accident?
Gear selector
If the shift lever "sticks" when shifting the chances are the bike has a bent shift fork or two. A warped gear shaft or shift shaft can cause sticking also but is very rare. It is pretty costly to fix and not a job for the home mechanic. Getting parts can be a problem as well. You can try Babbitt's

Cbx 750 1984 4 pin plug going to cdi unit
go to your local honda dealer or a good library and look up the exact make and model of your bike and get the plug wiring code for the cdi,most bikes i know aere different from each other in the cdi wiring,if you get it wrong the first time,you will fry the cdi and they are quite expensive to replace..hope this helps

Hi While it is possible, with skinny super flex hands to change them in situ, For most of us you need to take the front fairing off, unbolt the 3 holding bolts for the head light and reamove the rubber caps.
and plugs, remove the spring retainers and replace bulbs.This is a long winded process but saves a lot of skin.
My honda wont start
Take out the plugs and lay b the subframe or earth part if there is spartk maybe fuel or filters u may need to flush the system out or it could be old fuel it would be worth adding a inline fuel filter
Hard to start then runs
you dont say what model your bike is, but on a quick one it sounds as if your ignition timing is out, or you have a faulty coil .
