How to drain gas with fuel injection

Remove the gas line before the fuel injection and let it drain. Make sure that your gas valve is opened though so that it will flow. You can also do it from the gas selector it will drain that way also. If this helped please rate. Thank you

Brake light does not come

Sounds like the pressure switch underneath the bike has gone bad or the wires have come off the tabs. Follow the metal brake line that comes out of the rear master cylinder until you find the pressure switch. If the wires are on the tabs like they should be, the pressure switch is probably bad.

AIR SHOCKS LEAKING. IS THERE A KIT?

Spraying some soapy water around the air lines, fittings, and shocks might uncover the source of the leak. Your local dealer will be able to get any parts you may need. My.02? Purchase some quality aftermarket shocks (not air!) and never look back.

I think that particular item has an o-ring instead of a gasket. If the bolt needs tightening, you need to tighten it regardless of what else you have to do. That's call maintenance.

It may be running on one cylinder and it shouldn't be. Since the bike is fuel injected, I'd take to back to the dealer and let them have a look at it. I don't think it does that if it gets hot.

I'd like to help you more but I'm not up to date on the electronics of the later model bikes. I specialize in the 1999 and earlier bikes without the ECM's on them.

How do you take off the rear tire to change the

Basically, you jack up the bike, take the nut off the axle and pull it out. There will be some spacers that come out when you pull the axle out. One will be in each wheel bearing seal and one longer one on the drive side. Make sure you mark them or make a drawing on how they go back in. Once the wheel drops down, you'll have to work the wheel out of the swingarm. You may have to take the belt guards off as well.

How do you change the

That's the trouble with today's "mechanics". Replace, replace, replace! I was a mechanic for all my working life, Ford dealers and then my own shop. we repaired alternators, starters, power steering pumps, transmissions, engines, carbs. you name it. A rebuilt part has been repaired! The rebuilders make a lot of money, so does a real mechanic that repairs instead of replacing. Not too many of us left. If you cannot do it you should not be working on it.

Squeaking front brakes, The pad thickness is good.

Had same pronlem w/2000 Road King. Noise would go away when front brakes gently applied. Remove front calipers, remove pads and clean throughly to remove any dirt, sand, road grime or rocks. Road test to see if problem goes away. If not, jack it up enought to get front tire off the floor. Rotate fron tire. Should rotate smoothly w/no hard spots. If it does not you have a piston sticking in one caliper. Dual discs if front? Don't know which side is dragging? Start cold, go for a 10-15 minute ride not using front brake and feel each rotor comparing diff in temperature. Careful they can be darned hot. Anyway the warmest one is probably sticking. H-D has a repack kit w/special lube for the pistons. Lotsa Luck.

How to line-up rear wheel on a 2005 harley

The belt adjusting screws are on the ends of the swing arm arms if I'm not mistaken. To insure the rear wheel is aligned inside the swingarm, these two bolts must be adjusted to equal lengths.

Start by loosening the rear axle and the adjusters and moving the rear wheel forwards. Now, measure the bolts and set them to the same length. Slowly start to pull the rear wheel back by turning the nuts on the adjusters equal amounts on each bolt. Once you get the belt tension correct the bolts should be the same length.

Some swing arms have a "punch mark" on the outside of the swingarm about 6-8" in front of the axle. A Dyna Wide Glide has them. If your bike does not have exposed bolts that you can measure, look for these. Measure the distance from this "punch mark" to the center of the axle. If must be the same on both sides of the bike.

How to center back tire of harley davidson 2005

If you have the spacers in the proper places, the rear wheel is where it should be as far as "centering" goes. Not all wheels are designed to be "centered". On a Softail, there is an offset but I'm not positive about your road king.

Now, if you're talking about the alignment of the rear wheel in the swing arm, the RK has the adjusters on the rear of the swing arms's arms. Measure each bolt and when you get the proper belt tension with both bolts being the same length, you're aligned. The way I do it is move the wheel forward until the belt is too loose. Then set the lenghts the same. Then by turning each bolt the same amount each time, I slowly bring the wheel to the rear until I get the correct belt tension.

My 2005 road king wont downshift any suggestions??

Even the linkage on the outside of the transmission looks good, the problem is on the inside. I think your shifter pawl hold down spring is broken. Have you tried to shift the transmisson up and down with the engine not running? Just rock the bike backwards and forwards while trying to shift the transmission. If the transmission does not shift doing this, the problem is definately in the transmission. Harley has a problem with their shifter pawls and shifter pawl return springs. I've replaced many of them. A complete disassembly of the transmission is required. Verify by pulling the top cover off the transmission and watch the shifter pawl as you try to downshift.

Wont start

There are three things to necessary for any engine to run, fuel, ignition, and compression. You say you have all three. Now, they've all got to be timed correctly. Since you can't time compression, you must make sure your fuel injection is timed correctly if it's fuel injected and your ignition timing is correct. If all this is correct, it should start.

As for the codes, I'm sorry I can't help much there as I know nothing about the computer controlled fuel systems.

Good luck

How do you adjust the handle bars?

On the older FL models, there was chrome cover that covers the handlebar risers. It was held on by two bolts, one on each side of the cover right in the middle of the handlebars. Remove the cover and you can get to the riser. Loosen the top bolts of the riser and adjust the bars. Unless they've changed something, this should work.
