2003 Harley Davidson FXDL Dyna Low Rider Questions & Answers
Will a 2002 dyna front wheel fit a 2003 dyna?
Yes, it should fit. Typically, the only thing that would cause it to not fit would be the inside diameter of the wheel bearings. As I remember, the 02 and 03 Dynas had a 3/4" axle but I could be wrong. It is a simple matter to knock the bearings out and replace them with a different inside diameter to fit your axle.
How do you reset the factory ignition security system after it has been tripped?
The alarm will reset automatically or you can turn it off with the fob. If you cannot turn it off using the fob, then maybe the fob battery is flat. Replace it with a CR2032 and try again. If the alarm keeps ringing no matter what, then you may have a faulty TSSM module. All Harleys will reset the alarm if bike is turned off and left alone. By the way, have you removed the bike battery? If you have and did not disconnect it correctly (turn off alarm using fob, turn ignition on, disconnect battery) then the alarm siren will sound until its own backup battery goes flat. If this is the case, turn on ignition switch before fitting the battery.

How do you adjust idle on 2005 dyna fxdl low rider?
On the carb the cable closest to the right side of the bike is the throttle cable and the one closest to the left side is the idle cable. Right about the middle between the two is the idle adjustment screw. It faces out towards the air filter end of the carb . The engine should be at operating temperature with the enrichener off to set the idle between 950-1050 rpm. Turn the screw clockwise to increases idle speed and counterclockwise to decrease idle speed. EFI idle speed is computer controlled.
How do you remove gas tank from 2003 dyna low rider
Remove the instrument console and the front and rear mounting bolts and then the instrument wiring and the overflow hose and the fuel line at shut off valve making sure the valve is "OFF" and drain the tank and then remove the crossover hose at one side and plug line and hose and then disconnect fuel gauge connector at left side of frame under the tank.

Transmission oil is added, checked at a chrome plug with a 3/8 inch female hex socket head on the right top side of the transmission case. The engine oil drain plug is a 5/8 inch hex head plug on the bottom left side of the oil tank case under the spot where the jiffy stand rests in it up position.
Speedometer not working,odometer
Check the speedometer sensor on the gearbox. This is a common problem on Harleys. It can only be replaced as it is a sealed unit.
Brake pedal dont return all the wy on my motorcycle
Which brake?? Could be binding actuator or linkage. Could be a defective master cylinder. Could also be a damage flexible/rubber hose where a piece of rubber inside the hose is acting like a flapper valve allowing fluid to pass one way but not fully the other way. Check that the brakes are not dragging indicating that pressure is not being relieved or caliper piston(s) are seizing.
How do I replace the stator on my fxdl
if it is like my FLH and I think it is ,,you pull off the outer primary the engine's sprocket the clutch pack remember that nut is left hand the nut that holds the clutch pack on to the main shaft remove both sprocket and clutch pack and chain as one unit there's also an adjuster shoe we move that alsoyou then can remove the rotor be careful its stuck on with magnetic force there's two holes which allow you to put small hooks in there pull it straight out don't let it snap back on the shaft or you could break the magnets then there's your stator think there's a couple of screws to hold it in and then just put it back together in reverse order good luck
The starter is spinning but will not engage
same as a car the bendix a spring and gear that slides out when the starter spins at the correct speed if the starter motor drags it wont slide out .the bendix is the usual problem they get sticky and worn. easie change remove a snap ring slide on new one.

Replaced battery bike started seveal tmes during a
Yes, you need to check your charging system. First remove the battery and fully charge it (overnight) then refit, and start the bike. With the engine running at about twice the idle speed check the voltage at the battery. It should be approx 14 volts DC. If it is lower than 12.5 you should look first at the voltage regulator and rectifier. The symptoms you describe lead me to believe your charging system is the culprit. It may also be be your alternator, but check the regulator and rectifier first (cheaper)
