My 2002 BMW K1200LT would not start properly. It sounded like the battery was being drained completely when the starter button was pressed. I then heard a clunk noise and the abs stopped working follo

First check the battery connections are firm, no grease on them. Then check the earth cables from engine to frame and frame to battery. Then try again, with one jump lead connected to the negative battery terminal and clipped onto the metal outside of the starter motor. Any change?

Readout turned totally white After being in a Lot

Take a hair dryer to read out. Water will evaporate and eventually you will be able to see readout again. You may have to open up bezel to allow water vapor out or it will recondense on inside of bezel. Hope this helps.

ABS warning light until bike is put in gear and

Yes, that is completely normal. The ABS does a self test and extinguishes the light when it sees wheel speed information from both front and rear wheels.

Nothing to worry about unless the light fails to go off.

Happy riding.

Leeking fuel line right side of engine

If fuel is leaking down just in front of the RHS foot peg, that is the area where the fuel pump and lines exit the gas tank and connect to the fuel rail and lines on the engine. There are two quick disconnect fittings in that area, unfortunately you have to remove the bodywork on that side of the bike to get to the fuel lines. If you are not mechanically inclined, I would suggest taking the LT to a shop with BMW experience. Removal and CORRECT replacement of the bodywork is a bit complicated and involved and much too long to post a step by step procedure here.

BTW, I would also suggest NOT RIDING the bike while this leak is a problem..... as a large fire can easily result

Good Luck and sorry that this is not a easy 30 second fix.

I keep a slow trickle on the battery at all times,

first check if the battery is any good,, it maybe that its lived its life and you need to put a new one on the bike,,also check if this battery charger is realy charging the battery up,,the charger may be working but is the charge reaching the battery? to check if there is a drain just hook up a meeter if it reads a big drain when nothing is on then its the alarm using up the power but the charger should keep the battery toped up ok? i keep a solar sell of 2.5 watts hooked up to my bmw all the time and i never have had a flat battery yet!!! a charger may "over cook" the battery and that will kill it off very fast, all it needs is a stand by charge going into it thats only about 50ma 's and a battery's life is only about 2 to 3 years so if its older than this fit a new one to the bike

Coolingfan doesn't stop

the themostat switch has shorted out or there is a short in the wiring loom you can stop the fan by pulling the plug out that feeds it its 12 volt supply you will find the plug close to the fan motor by the rad,,however you still need to change the thermostat switch in the water jaket,,, the bike will be ok to drive so long as you dont sit in traffic or let it stand ticking over you need to be driving it at a speed of at least 20 mph so that air go's through the rad to cool the motor down or you will cook the engine up?
