2001 BMW R1100R won't start. Pump or electrical?

Hi,
My experience with this always leads to a 'dead' spot developed over the times the bike sets. If you remove the pump and gently tap on the outside with a PLASTIC covered hammer or use a block of wood between a ball peen hammer and the fuel pump or of course take the pump apart and lightly -sand the points [ this can be a one way process - if you can't put the pump back together - don't attempt this.
Because you have never had this problem before - I suggest you get some WD40 and while the bike is turning over spray it into the intake and it will fire off the bike
if the problem is fuel. Sometimes you can get lucky and this alone will allow
the fuel system to self adjust. Also be sure to take the time to remove the negative side of the battery and let it set for about 30 minutes.
This can allow the electronics to reset and work properly.
If the bike doesn't start or at least fire while spraying the WD40 you
most likely need a qualified technition

R1100 Handling

enjine, R11xx bikes are generally regarded as well balanced, sweet handling machines. Indeed, it is one of their better attributes. Have you inspected the rear swing arm and final drive for free play? With the bike securely on the center stand grab the rear wheel at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock and attempt to rock it. Repeat this at 12 and 6 o'clock. If you discover flex you may have also discovered the cause of your handling problems. If you do discover flex you'll need to isolate it to the rear drive, the paralever bearings (at the rear of the swing arm and a well documented "weak link") or at the swing arm bearings. One more thought; what sort of tire pressure do you run, front & rear? I hope you can sort this out and start fully enjoying your oilhead.

My 1996 BMW R1100R has

Hi,

1. Turn off the ignition and remove the seats from the bike
2 Look under the rider seat for a set of three wires that go into a plug.
3 Remove the plug (you will see that it's nothing but an empty piece of plastic!).
4 Insert one end of your 30cm strip of wire into the cable plug so it makes contact with the CENTER wire
5 Ground the other end of your wire
6 Turn on the ignition and hold down the ABS button for 10 seconds.
7 Turn off the ignition, remove your 30cm wire and put the bike back together again.
8 Turn the ignition back on and the ABS is reset!

Good Luck!!

Thanks!!

The gas tank has to come off. It's really not that much more than you've already done. If you don't pull the tank, it's a fight all the way. This way is much easier. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/craig_3fa289bf857b1a3c

Fuse for the headlights for 650 BMW 2008

On a 2008 BMW 650i, the fuse for the headlights is located in the fuse box under the hood. The specific fuse you need is Fuse #61, which is a 20-amp fuse located in the third row of fuses from the top. To access the fuse box, open the hood and locate the black plastic cover on the right side of the engine bay. There should be a diagram on the underside of the cover showing the layout of the fuses. Once you've found the correct fuse, you can use a fuse puller or a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove it from the fuse box. It's always a good idea to check the owner's manual for your specific vehicle to get the most accurate and up-to-date information on the location and function of the various fuses.

My 2003 BMW R1150RT won't start after it overheated, what would the problem be?

It depends on how hot it got and for how long? Holes in the pistons under the spark plugs. Burnt Exhaust Valves. Stuck Valves. First thing to do is to remove and visually inspect the spark plugs and then test for compression. Interesting reviews and on mentions burnt valves. https://www.motorcyclenews.com/bike-reviews/bmw/r1150rt/2001/ ..
