Assuming you've probably got a hydraulic clutch, I'd recommend bleeding the system first to make sure there's no air causing it to not release all the way. If it's the other way around (i.e. it disengages too quickly while squeezing the lever -- make sure it's not worn out -- an overly-thin clutch disk could cause that symptom). As a last resort, if everything's working properly and you're still not happy, try a set of adjustable levers!

I have a 97 RT with 35k. When cold, it sounds like the starter sticks. I back off the starter and try again and it's ok. Only happens when cold. Any ideas?

Try make a carburation air/fuel regulation...maybe the moisture is too poor. And can need valves regulation, too.

97 r850r as I decelerate it pops sounds like it's

Popping sound while decelerating usually indicates a problem with fuel mixtures (as in air fuel ratio usually too lean) or a timing problem .

My BMW R1100 RT motorbike spluttered a bit then stopped and all electric power was lost. Freshly serviced with new battery and alternator belt, fuses look ok. Any ideas?

Mark, Electrical problems are hard to diagnose at the bike and much harder to do remotely....Here is a link to the BMW motorcycle owners discussion board, you may find some answers there...Good luck.... BMW R100RT 1987 model: Generator

First of all check what is the voltage at the battery when the engine is running, at idle and at some elevated RPM? this problem is caused when the charging system isn't working and/or the battery is shot. But you have already replaced the battery so other then this what happens is :--the lights essentially run off the battery IIRC and if the charging system can't supply enough voltage to charge the battery, then this problem occurs, so the problem cause should be corroded contacts/wiring in the charging circuit. check the wirings properly and clean the contacts.
Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.
