There will be several answers to this fault . Firstly the exhaust sensor could need to be cleaned or replaced depending on the fuel you run your bike with . The other thing is the air intake sensor will have to be checked as this latest May be disconnected and giving the ECU a wrong reading causing a hard start . One solution ,check with your local dealer if you can run warmer spark plugs during the winter period baring in mind not to keep them during summer as you could burn a hole in your pistons
I have a T reg
Tako of the spark plugs and if dirty, clean them and put them back. Probably nothing happened, maybe onle some engin oil went to engine. If you fave some blue smoke coming from exhaust that's the sign of oil. Check oil level and if eveithing looks ok, go for a ride and after couple of kilometars everything should be ok. When warm rev it couple of times...

I have a 1999 r1100s
this engine is fuel injected so a "carb" balance is difinitley not the issue here, this electronic fuel injection has self test capabilities and I strongly suggest you have the local Bemer dealer do that test to see what is going on with the fuel system, u may just have a defective fuel injector, as the engine warms the injector starts to work so it may just be sticking closed and not delivering fuel, but like i said the electronic fault code test is a must to track this problem down and not waste money on typically expensive BMW replacement parts, so get that done before replacing anything.
Will not start
The push button started switch on the handle bars does two things at the same time. It interupts the headlight and closes the circut for the starter. This is common to most motor cycles. The comon problem here is that the switch itself is not well protected from weather and corossion.
Common trouble shoot steps...
Does the starter turn when supplied voltage with a jumper cable. If so started motor is probaly intactact if not bad starter.
Second if you jump the relay for the starter (often near the battery, will have a heavy cable from battery and one from starter) does the starter spin?
If these are OK suspect the switch on the handle bars.
I have to clean mine about every six months but my bike is NEVER in the garage. Idrive it daily and it sits out at night.
Good Luck
Fuse for the headlights for 650 BMW 2008
On a 2008 BMW 650i, the fuse for the headlights is located in the fuse box under the hood. The specific fuse you need is Fuse #61, which is a 20-amp fuse located in the third row of fuses from the top.
To access the fuse box, open the hood and locate the black plastic cover on the right side of the engine bay. There should be a diagram on the underside of the cover showing the layout of the fuses. Once you've found the correct fuse, you can use a fuse puller or a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove it from the fuse box.
It's always a good idea to check the owner's manual for your specific vehicle to get the most accurate and up-to-date information on the location and function of the various fuses.
