Aprilia mojito custom 125 when I set off on it it rides and goes fine until it warms up then starts spluttering and popping until it cuts out wait 10 mins then starts and goes fine then cuts out again

Sounds like one of two things. The electrical system (ignition coil) is breaking down. The fuel system ventilation system is blocked.

Why does steam and then water come from the

Your 125 may have a blown head gasket, water is entering the cylinder stopping the spark from sparking (causing cut out) and exiting from the exhasut, the steam is from the compression.

My Aprilia Mojito 125 doesen't

I am not familiar with the Mojito's qwarks. Sometimes the charging systems are underpowered and can't keep the batteries charged on some scooters. Check with Aprilia to see if there is a recall or service bulletin on the bike. If the bike started and ran fine when it was new, and you have the factory sized battery in the bike, then the problem is not with the battery size. If the battery is more than 2 years old, replace it. It may show as good on a volt meter, but it may not have sufficient amps to crank the engine, or be able to hold the charge. The dealer should also check the charging system to make sure it is charging at least 12.8V at idle, and well over 13V (volts) when the engine is revved up. Most scooters charge at 13.5V-14.7V when revved up. It shouldn't exceed 15V. An Aprilia dealer should have the factory specifications for the charging system and can test this in just 5 minutes. If you are having a charging issue, then it is most likely your voltage regulator/rectifier or your stator. The stator is what produces the electricity when the engine is running, the regulator is what smooths the power out and sends it to your battery at the proper voltage. Regulators fail more frequently than stators and are cheaper to repair. Other possible problems are the starter relay or the starter itself may be worn out and drawing too much power. Again, if the bike started fine when it was new, and you have the factory sized battery, then don't change the battery size. You may only be treating the symptom and not the problem. And applying more power can simply cause more damage. If the problem is that you just have to run the starter for a long time before it starts, and you just run the battery down, then it may have nothing to do with your starting system at all. It may be a low compression issue, dirty carb/fuel injection problem, old spark plug, etc. Hope this helps. www.solanocycle.com

My Aprilia Mojito stopped working

hi, i beleive you have spent alot of money on this scooter, and for not much more you could have bought another machine, it sounds to me like the problem is with the electrics, as you say your mechanic has instaled a switch to cut of the power from the battery when the bike is not in use, this should not be the case as when your key is turned off there should be no drain on the battery at all, so i would sugest instead of fitting a switch, find out the reason for the battery drain and correct the fault, if you have a drain on the battery this may be a contributary factor in the poor starting, normaly modern bikes like yours require no opening of the throttle while starting, the whooing sound you mention could be the starter throwing out,and not engaging, because of the batteries low state. recharging the battery as many times as this is not good for the battery i would sugest obtaining a new battery from another agent, put the battery on the bike yourself, when you conect the battery leads with the key turned off you should conect the red posotive wire first, when you conect the earth neg wire to the battery as you touch it on the terminal you should have no power drain at all, power drain would be identifyed by a spark when conecting the lead, the more powerful the spark the heavyer the drain, care must be taken while doing this as a battery can explode if no spark is evident then there is no power drain, if a power drain is found then you should disconect things 1 at a time until you find the sorce of the fault, dont spend any more money unles you know it will rectify the fault.

I have an Aprilia Mojito 50 2002. Won't start.

Hello. The interesting thing about these small motor cycles is that their charging system is not adequate to keep the battery fully charged. I recommend that you charge the battery fully and then start it. When the battery is totally dead, even a kick start will not start it. The charging process may also indicate that your battery needs to be replaced. If you are still using the original battery on a 2005 I would begin by having that battery tested at any auto parts store.

Seems to be hold back and making slght crunching noise

If you are experiencing grinding noises and a power loss, I would look more to the power train and related components. Transmission, wheel bearing, brakes hanging.

With the engine off, I would push the bike slowly to determine if you are able to detect a grinding noise and if there is any resistence when pushing it.

I have an aprilia sr 50 2005 ditech , it staRts and after running for a bit and I turn it off, it wont start up again.

Hi, Please get your battery and alternator checked. Since your car can't maintain power, one of these two items would most likely be the cause. In fact, if you had a bad alternator it could permanently damage a new battery because the alternator wouldn't charge the battery for an extended period of time. Thank you.

Instructions
    • 1 Park your RSV 1000R on a well-ventilated, level area, using its kickstand.
    • 2 Start the engine and let it idle in place until the temperature gauge built into the instrument cluster indicates a minimum internal temperature of 180 degrees Fahrenheit. This is the motorcycle's ideal operating temperature.
    • 3 Take note of the engine idle speed, using the tachometer needle, while the engine is running. Ideally, the engine should idle steadily at 1,250 rpm.
    • 4 Adjust the engine idle speed to 1,250 rpm, using the idle adjuster screw hidden between the lower right edge of the fuel tank and the upper edge of the right middle fairing panel. Turn the idle adjuster screw clockwise to increase the engine idle speed, or counterclockwise to decrease the engine idle speed, using a small flat screwdriver if your RSV 1000R's frame (VIN number) precedes ZD4MEE009YS000292. A plastic knob allows the engine idle speed to adjusted by hand on RSV 1000R models with a frame (VIN) numbers starting from ZD4MEE009YS000293.
    • 5 Rev the engine two to three times and observe the tachometer. The engine should return to a 1,250 rpm idle. Adjust the engine idle speed as needed, using the method described, then rev the engine again. Problems may exist within the throttle control, fuel-injection system or engine, if the engine idle speed will not hold steady at 1,250 rpm. Contact your local Aprilia service facility for assistance.
    • 6 Stop the engine, once you have obtained a steady 1,250 rpm idle speed.

Sonic gp. Why isn't it starting?

If it came with a battery, you need to put a battery in it. The battery provides the power for the spark, the stator provides power to charge the battery. You can rewire modern scooters to suit yourself. https://www.google.com/search?q=Aprillia+Sonic+GP+Battery ..
