I have a 1985 Suzuki.I bought a new battery. It started up fine and ran fine and then it just shut down. Now power to the lights or ignition. Can you help me?

I would suggest you first check the battery for charge then check the fuses in the block attached to the side of the battery box if thats all ok check the wiring to the ignition if its lost all electrics it has to be between the battery and the ignition

How to remove carburetor air box

You have to remove the battery box first, to remove the battery box you will need to unclip the fuse box, unclip the flasher unit and unscrew the 2 retaining screws which hold the ignitor. Then slacken the clips on the air intake rubbers between the air box and the carbs, and remove the 2 airbox retaining screws postioned at the rear of the air box on top.The airbox can then be pulled backwards away from the carbs,If the air box is to be removed from the frame then you will need to remove the carbs first to allow room to manuver the airbox and then its a case of fiddle till you get it clear.

My gsx 500 es won't

Hi, it could be a number of things.

There's stuff to be eliminated as potential problems.

1. Kill switch
2. Clutch switch
3. Faulty starter relay
4. Start button - dirty contacts

Do you have any kind of test equipment, such as a multimeter or a test light?

Make sure the kill switch is in the Run position.
With the ignition on, clutch lever pulled in, and start button pressed you should see power (12v) on the Green/Yellow wire at the starter relay. If you have power on this wire and the relay does not close you have a faulty starter relay. If no power, check at the Green/Yellow wire at the clutch switch. There are two wires. One should have power, the other should not until you pull in the clutch (starter button pressed). If you find power all the time on one wire and never on the other then the clutch switch is bad or needs to be adjusted. If you do not get power either side, check the Green/Yellow wire at the start button. There should be power when the button is pressed. If no power, check the Orange/White wire at the start button. If there is power at the Orange/White wire and never any at the Yellow/Green, the start button is bad or has dirty contacts. If there is no power at the Orange/White wire, check the Orange wire at the kill switch. If power on Orange and never on Orange/White you have an open or faulty kill switch. If no power on Orange, you have a bad ignition (key) switch.

This runs you through the entire control circuit from ignition switch to starter relay.
On bikes this old that have seen some weather, it is not uncommon to have dirty switch contacts.

How do i tighten the timing chain on a 1985 suzuki

the timing chain has an automatic tensioner at the rear of the engine cylinders, if the chain is loose the tensioner is either defective or the chain is stretched to the point the tensioner can no longer take up the normal slack created by wear.

Between the dual carburators there are two ports

They are vent hoses. just get some clear hose and run the hose to the swing arm area for venting.

hi m8,,just to give u some things to check b4 i give yuh some more tips,, 1st, thing had your bike been stood 4 a while if so it would have been on its side stand at some point so 1 and 2 carb would have contaminated fuel in, work on those two carbs and make sure they have clean jets and float bowl,,while your in the carbs have a look at the diaphrams on top of the carb,, gently take one out and hold the diaphram up to the light to see if it has any pin holes,,, if there isnt then happy dayz,, it sounds more like fuel thats gone off in side the float bowl and blocked up your jet,, take the jet out,, and poke a pin in the holes ,try that mate,,

I have a 1984 suzuki

Wow the list is long. Everything needs to be serviced.
Get a manual that is at least close to your model and do a 10,000 mile
service. Plus the following:
Drain fuel tank, carbs, exercise brakes and insure they do not stick. Raise wheel off the ground and spin the wheel, apply brake on tha wheel and release insure that it will spin freely
immediately after release.
Battery will most likely need to be replaced.
Good Luck and Ride Safe

Either connect the two wires that go to the sensor light together to bypass the system or buy a safety switch and put it back on so the next time you forget to put the stand up you do not crash and burn.

Where is the rectifier located on my 2004 suzuki katana 600

Behind the radiator on the left side. It is the device with cooling fins, even though the electronic parts are embedded in rubber paste. The location isn't ideal and sudden defects leave people stranded so what people do is relocate the regulator/rectifier to a cooler place. Perhaps to the air inlet, under the air filter. Follow the three, mostly, yellow cables that originate from the stator when you don't find it behind the radiator.

Why my Suzuki TF 125 losses power in the midway? What are the causes for such loss of power?

What do you mean by "Midway"? How old is this motorbike? What exactly did you do to clean the carburettor? Is it a new spark plug and a new, clean air filter? Did you empty the fuel tank to remove the fuel tap to clean the filter on the inside of the tap? Is it doing anything else? Things like - is it hard to start, has heavier exhaust smoke or it has a rough and uneven idle.

I own a 2009 Suzuki Boulevard. Problem is the motor is jammed. It turns but only half a turn before it hits something solid inside. what are the possibilities it could be that is causing the problem

A broken timing chain is the most likely cause, the piston is hitting an open valve, or you have a dropped valve or a stuck valve. Another possibility is something jamming behind behind the side covers. The key would be how you discovered this? Driving along at 105 and the engine stopped, or ???https://www.google.com/search?q=2009+suzuki+boulevard+timing+chain+or+timing+belt....
