Hello, i bought an 80
Is the clutch hydraulic or does it use a cable? If it's hydraulic, you 've probably either got air in the system or a bad master or slave cylinder. The clutch arm movement might be only to the point of resistance or before it which would explain why you don't feel the resistance. If your clutch is cable acutated, there is no explainable reason why you wouldn't feel the resistance of the clutch springs when you squeeze it.

Hi, please let me know if you find out how to remove the seat, trying to do the same here! Thank you
I have a 1980 suzuki gs1000 g. clutch?
Drain the oil and install a new oil filter. Dirty, gritty oil can make a clutch act this way. After the oil change , ride the bike for an hour or so. Now drain the oil a second time. Doing this will flush most all of the grit from the engine.

My mate changed my clutch with a new set,new cable
Did you set up the clutch mechanism/pushrod correctly? Where the clutch cable goes into the engine you need to remove the cover to access it. First off, set some freeplay into the cable by either/and adjusting the lower end of the cable or at the lever.
Once done, under the cover you will see a lock nut on the end of a shaft with a slot in it for your screwdriver. Slacken the lock nut. Turn the shaft in (clock wise) until you just feel resistance. Now back it out half a turn. Secure the lock nut ensuring the centre shaft does not turn. Now set the freeplay in the cable to give a few mm's play at the lever (you may be able to acheive this with just the knurled adjuster at the lever end, if not use the inline adjuster at the point where the cable goes into the engine cover). Make sure this is right before the hassle of checking the plates.
Adjusting cam chain on 1980 susuki gs motocycle
there should be no adjusting cause it is spring loaded .. if you have after market adjuster ! take the side cover off . you want to turn the crankshaft by hand . once you have done this . then have the nut free on the adjuster .roll crankshaft around wile hand tightening the adjuster .. you only want it hand tight. then tighten the nut . if you still hear chain slap ! tighten another 1/4 turn .. and that should be it !!
My gs 750 is cutting out when you give it gas at
Either your fuel valve is not all the way open, or your fuel filter is clogged.
The valve is closed when sideways (parrallel to the ground) and open when straight up and down.
As for the filter, you may have to remove it to remove the debris. Then use fuel cleaner to remove and build up in the lines.
1979 Suzuki GS750 won't start. new plugs, only
HI THATS ODD TO HAVE 3 SPARKING, AS THE IGNITION COILS ON THE OLD GS WERE 1COIL FOR 2 CYLINDERS IE 1&4 CYLINDERS USED 1 COIL AND 2&3 USED THE OTHER , SO IF YOU ARE GETTING A SPARK AT EITHER OF THESE THAT MEANS THE COIL IS WORKING, ON THE COIL THAT IS ONLY GIVING A SPARK AT 1 PLUG SWAP THE PLUG OVER AND SEE IF IT THEN SPARKS IN THE OTHER CAP THIS WILL ELIMINATE THE PLUG, IF THE PLUG THAT WAS SPARKING IN THE OTHER LEAD NO LONGER SPARKS IN THE OPPOSIT LEAD THEN OBSERVE THE LEAD REMOVE THE CAP AND EARTH THIS OUT WHILE YOU TURN OVER THE ENGINE, THIS WILL ELIMINATE THE CAP,

It ussually goes together 2 ways. If one is wrong try the other.
Done this before, you can get the handle backwards therefore reversing the flow of the valve, just try again.
Good to see someone trying to fix it themselves, hang in there.
Fuel leaking passed the carbs into cylender on
are you turning the fuel valve off if bike sits for more than one hour?? the valve should not let fuel flow in the run position (straight up and down), if it does the fuel tank valve is defective, the valve is only supposed to let fuel flow when engine vacuum is present, had this same bike so very sure on this. U can rebuild the valve with new O rings.
