I have a 2 stroke
no this is not a problem, the amount of oil that is injected is tiny compared to the gas burned the ratio is about 50 to 1, so one tank of oil last through many tanks of gas, i owned these when they were new, so I speak from personnel experience
Smokes white excessively
sounds like your wet side crank seal is bad. On two strokes your gas and air mix hit the crank before they ever see the top of the motor. this makes the crank seals VERY importantif you dry side takes a dumb on you your motor will have a vac. leak this will cause your motor to run lean and over heat, if your wet side does out then the motor will **** in tanny oil and smoke and foul plugs bad. the best thing to do in this case is just rebiuld the motor. whats the worst that happen.. you end up with a nice fresh motor. runs good and ready to ride. mind you will be spilting the cases, it sounds like a hell of a job but its not that bad take it slow and ask if you don't know
Fix it right Ride it fast

The oil pump on my 1977 kawasaki ke175 went out,
Get a new pump if you want;
Go to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. You will select the actual brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. You can order parts from this site. In the event no price is shown on a particular part, the part is not in stock. www.babbittsonline.com/pages/parts/viewbybrandand/parts.aspx The pump is in stock at Babbit's @ $104.00.
Otherwise, just drain the oil tank and plug the end (or just remove the tank). Mix the gas and oil in the gas tank 32 to 1. That equals 4 ounces of oil per gallon of gas.
A “very helpful” rating for this answer? Thanks!
It cuts out at high rpm but the plug is fine.
Pull the spark plug. If the porcelain cone is whitish then change the main jet to a higher number i.e.. 178 original main jet changes to a 180 or a 182 if needed.
If the porcelain cone is blackish or sooty then change to a lower number i. e. 178 down to a 175 or 172.
I have no fire
Being that this bike is vintage. You prob have points if not then you have a magneto and coil on the left side you will see wires coming out of the case by where your foot would be. There should be like 6 or 8 phillips head bolts to take case off. Look and inspect and see if maybe you did not tighten the magneto by the flywheel it should be two screws. Try that if the doesnt help. try to jump across the coil from one side to the other see if it fires. If that doesnt help. You may need new cdi box. If theres points I cant help you much never dealt with them much myself sorry. Hope this helps ya.
My 4-wheeler idles fine but misfires once you give it gas
I don't know if I can solve it but it sounds to me like you're not getting enough fuel. has it been sitting awhile or just start doing this randomly? If it's been sitting there's a pretty good chance you'll need to clean you carburetor. when gas sits in the bowl of your carburetor for too long it will get thick and smell almost like varnish. My Suzuki 250 4x4 had a similar misfire and cleaning the carb fixed mine.
Burned spark plug
burning to hot, change air filter. adjust mix on carb, tight in and 1 and 3/4 out
I just came accross a
Petseal will fisx the petrol tank and the carb is probably blocked with dead insects and corroded jets etc.
Have a 1977 ke 250
No you do not need the battery just make sure that your key or kill switch are all working properly.
I am in nedd of
The parts are available as well as complete carburetors, I checked. Go to
www.babbittsonline.com and you can order from them. On the site you can see an exploded view of the carb. But if you don't want to put a few bucks in the bike, I would be happy to put it in my garage. :-) Please rate my answer. Thanks.
Starter spins but doesn't turn
Typically there is a piece called a one way clutch. It is bolted to the back of the flywheel. In this case the one way clutch is not grabbing the large starter gear. You will have to remove the engine side cover, pull off the flywheel, and replace the one way clutch and starter gear. Then, when the starter motor is spinning , the clutch will grab the starter gear, the motor will turn over, and hopefully start.
Loss compresion
1. check piston rings
2. check valve seal
3. check spark plug tight
4.check head bolts
5. check gaskets
do all these one by one and check the compression.
I have been an accident
I had a problem with my gold wing like that, once you make sure that there is no frame damaged setting your bike on a center stand do the one pice string around the back tire pulled to the front on both
sides,(make sure your rear tire is alined on the same marks for the swing arm) checking your triple tree for damage or just might need to be loosened and retightend
