Check the security of the coils to the body, remove the coils and sand down the parts where the coil and body contact each other, dab with grease once they're shiny and re-bolt the coil(s) to the body. Also check the connection of the condenser (near the distributor) and all the wiring to and from coils, distributor and battery and check all the HT leads, if the leads are quite old it's a good idea to replace them anyway they're only cheap. Tell me how you get on, will advise further if this doesn't fix it

What type of Kawi? I would start with the coolant level if its water cooled and make sure its fresh fluid and not old and burnt. Second if it has a thermostat make sure its functioning properly with no blockage of fluid and water pump is circulating the coolant, and lastly and the most severe the head gasket could be seeping causing the coolant to be compressed with combustion chamber gasses and not allowing the coolant to flow (to verify, make sure your not getting coolant in your oil or out the exhaust as this would be symptoms if this is happening if your loosing coolant)
