be very careful with the sounds that you describe, Sounds to me from the condition you describe without looking at it directly, May be that since the carbs leaking gas, over rich condition on cylinder 4, or a very bad job at setting the floats, Or a combination of both adjustment together

Changing/fixing front blinkers

Look at the connectors on the indicator wiring harness. The connectors are not up to Aviation standards. And a bike of that age will usually have corrosion in the connectors.

Nighthawk 700S & 750S

soory about your trouble but it sounds like the yoke inside the starter itself is not engaging. If you know how or know someone that could take the starter apart and try to grease the yoke shaft so it can slide freely back and forth it should do the trick.

My 1984 Honda cb700sc Nighthawk

The solinoid is a possibility but a weak battery is more likely to be the cause.

My bike will not turn

pull the starter and check it by putting it on a testor or just hooking it to a good(known)battery. If it tests good then check/replace the starter switch and check wires to the switch.

Hi l got a 84 nighthawk 700sc cant get the clutch

Loosen the banjo bolt on the clutch master cylinder, Put a plastic sheet and a rag under the banjo, pump the lever a couple of times till DOT 3/4 brake fluid starts pouring out past the sealing washers. You have now gotten the air out of the master cylinder. Tighten the banjo bolt, bleeding the lines should now be easy.

Sounds like external shift mechanism has worn out springs, replace them,if that does not work than your transmission shift forks are worn or bent, and or gear dogs are worn,in this case motor must be removed.

I need a gasket kit A for my 1984 Honda cb700sc

I assume you went to Honda and they want your left kidney for the gasket set! Here,s the thing many of the after market gasket sets are good and most are close to the original BUT if you are going to keep this bike my advice is to pay the money and get the real thing.I learned this lesson the hard way when I bought an aftermarket set and 25% of the stamped holes where in the wrong place.Bought a Honda set in the end.Good luck and good riding.

I was checking out my bike because it has not been

The carbs need to be cleaned. The floats are stuck open and gas is draining from the tank, through the carbs and into the cylinders. It then seeps passed the rings and into the crankcase.
Have the carbs cleaned by a bike shop (not a dealer as most won't touch something this old)

I have gone through 3 starter solenoids in the

it sounds like you may be wearing the selonoids out , because of
over cranking . You first have to go back and check all of your
fuel connections, and replace fuel filters, air filter should be changed as well . then get some chevron gas 93 octane and replace all of your old gas, ethenol if it sets produces water, air and
gas have to mix according . So give it a little time . if you have the
cash to get new spark plugs do it . or clean your old ones before
you crank. charge batttery make sure it is holding charge 12v or 11.5 anyways, it should start ok . if it does not , then you may have burnt up another starter . change your oil to while your at it.
then stand back and pat yourself on the back, for a job wel done.

My engine is making a clicking noise which i have

Your motorcycle has hydraulic lifters that run off of oil pressure. Your valves never need adjusting. Now the problem, the hydraulic piston assembly that operates the individual valve can go bad . This will cause a loud clacking or clicking sound. If you have several bad lifters it sounds like your engine is full of marbles. Early models in 1983 had quite a few lifters that needed to be replaced. The Honda dealer knows how to test individual lifters to see if they are worn and need to be replaced. One other possibility, you could have a bad cam chain tensioner . That can cause an even clatter/clicking sound and can usually be installed through the top of the motor
