What kind of oil do i put in my 1962 honda 305 dream

Use a 10w40 specifically for motorcycles. They have it at PEPBOYS and motorcycle dealers. Automotive oils are too slippery and will cause the clutch to slip.

If your getting power to the battery side if solenoid, check small power lead to solenoid when key is in start position, if your getting power to small (start lead) and battery side lead, then check other post of solenoid. If your getting power to first two and nothing at last post you have a bad solenoid. As far as no lights, etc. Make sure battery is fully charged and use test light or multimeter to check power at keyswitch. Hope this helps. I've just dumped the old

Hello,

Just as long as you don't use any synthetic oil products, you can use 10W-40 or 10W-50. I use 10W-50 during the summer months and 10W-40 during the winter months.

Synthetic oils are not made for old bikes and will most likely cause damage to your bike, especially your clutch system.

I hope this helps. If you find this information useful, please vote on this post. Thank you.

Oz

Where are the timing marks on a 1970 cb 350

On the left side of your engine, you will see a round cover. If you remove this round cover you will see a fly wheel with a big bolt head, if you spin this bolt head with the engine in neutral. You will see marks on the fly wheel, these marks are your timing marks.

What is the ground wire under the seat on a Honda

If it is spare green wire under the seat assuming that the ground wire is still green. Then it is just a spare.
However, most bikes have a spare power wire under the seat that is used for auxillary connections.

I have recently bought a

possible problem as this is a common thing on the CB360's. What happens is the kick leg tends to slip out of sync with the engaging gear, it will be under the right side cover. Some times you need to remove the cover and manually put it back in to sync.

Otherwise you have stripped your kick starter gear.

How do i replace the ignition switch on a honda cb

If this switch is located down on the left side, all you should need to do is trace your wiring and unplug the pig tail from the main harness. Remove the keys, undo and remove the round locking ring from the uppermost section then pull it out from the back.
You can tell the lock ring, by the slots in it.

I just bought a 1972

Is it possible that the leak only appears to be worse on the left side because the bike leans to the left when it is on the kickstand? Therefore it could be coming from a more central location like the cam chain tensioner. ----------] The gasket between the Cylinder Head and Cylinder Block gets worn out many a times and causes oil leak. ------ Most probably it cracked seal, that is causing the problem. The seal needs to be replaced.------ To get more help, click the link below:--- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/06/honda-cb350-is-leaking-oil-from-fins-on.html ---------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

I have a 1972 honda

The engine can be started so long as you run a hot wire to the coils, have a good battery and the kill switch is off. Bear in mind that; the points must make and break contact properly, the condenser is good, The CV carbs are operational, the spark plugs are serviceable, good gas is filling the carbs, the piston and valves are not frozen, the rings and valves are sealing well enough to provide at least 120psi compression, and the coils are good > you are getting spark. I see this type of "garage find" motorcycle frequently. For the most part, the bike is not wort fixing. Getting parts is spotty at best and the time and cost of parts adds up to more than the bike is worth. If you elect to do repairs, the site below has some parts on hand. Please rate my answer. Clean or replace your points first. You may need to disassemble and clean the points to make sure they are not shorting out to the frame. sometimes you have to install new points several times before they don't short. Be patient , working with Honda points can be tedious. Also consider new spark plug caps (about $5 each).

What kind of gasget material is needed to make

Hi you will need to get some gasket paper ( oil paper) medium thickness for the underside of the cylinders, you have your headgasket, you may nee to get a number of orings which fit around the dowels and seal the oilways ,the rocker cover should be fitted with a rubber seal which fits in a recess in the rocker cover, you could use some rtv sealent to help seal it, but dont overdo it, you have the metal cover for the breather cover. Tip check all rocker cover bolt holes for thread condition before reasembling ,

Usually, the front seat bracket has a bolt in it that when removed will allow the bracket to come off then allowing the tank and ruber mounting to also lift off and slide back. don't forget to turn the tank to off position and remove hose from carberator first!
