Not starting
when i put in the key and press the button to get her going she dont start. Ive tried it with alot of choke some choke and none and its all the same you just get the sound of the enigine trying to start. And sometimes when you press the button you get the sound and another sound coming from the exhaust i think which sounds like a little back fire of air.
ive checked the oil which is just under max and the same with the petrol to.Probably just the plug and certainly the easiest/cheapest thing to swap out and test.
Slightly concerned about this backfire type noise you speak of tho. Could be compression iSSueS....
I'm guessing it was working ok before it decided to stop?
Ok....things the engine needs to run....and things to check....
Spark at the right time of the engine cycle - Duff plug, duff CDI, ignition/sidestand/kill switches, Timing out, woodruft key on the crank broken
Compression - worn rings/piston - whats the milage and do you know if any routine maintainence has been done?
Fuel - is there fuel in the tank. fuel tap in wrong position, float in carb knackered, inline fuel filter blocked, fuel filter in the carb clogged
Mixture - jets in the carb knackered/blocked (unlikely as it was running before)
If you've got those 4 things the engine should run! Start with the easy and obvious things...Check for spark first as this is the most likely culprit.,,,
